Manage Your Weight Over the Holidays
The holidays are quickly approaching. Holidays that are filled with lots of foods and drink everywhere. During this time, it is easy to say to yourself, “Don’t worry about the holidays, I will lose weight after the first of the year.” Most overweight people don’t want to hear what I am about to say next. However, it is important, and has to be said.
This is a poor attitude, and although you may have good intensions, it does not show commitment, or a strong desire to lose weight. Losing weight requires a strong desire to lose weight. A strong desire to lose weight does not put it off. People with a strong desire to lose weight turn losing weight into an emergency and starts the process now, not after they have pigged out for over a month.
The reason I see that some people want to wait until after the first of the year is that they feel that they deserve to over eat during the holidays. They feel that if they watch what they eat over the holidays, they will not be able to enjoy the holidays. Whether you want to believe it or not, you can enjoy the holidays without eating everything in sight.
Additionally, let’s say you lose the weight after the first of the year because you want to “enjoy the holidays,” what are you going to do next year after you lose the weight? Are you going to pig out, gain weight, and enjoy the holidays? If we are going to lose weight and keep it off, at some point we will need to start going through the holidays without losing control. Therefore, if you are serious about losing weight and not just trying to make yourself feel better about pigging out, then let’s start now, and let’s get a head start heading into the first of the year.
