Tell yourself that you will enjoy exercising.
Tell yourself how good you will feel.

How Will You Lose Weight?

After you make a list of your options on how you will lose the weight, will you choose: easy, proven, certain, fun, convenient, known, unknown, important, urgent, or a challenging way to lose weight? Will you ask everyone for their advice, or will you pick what’s right for you in the long run? How will you lose weight? Losing weight is a personal decision. How you lose it is also a personal decision. There are many ways to lose weight. However, there may be only one way that you are willing to live with long term. Identify that option and that will be your method for long-term weight loss.

There is no perfect answer. However, knowing which way is right for you is the best way to move forward and lose the weight you desire, for a lifetime.

Most Destructive Weight Loss Statement

Want to lose weight?
Want to be thinner and trimmer?
What is the most destructive weight loss statement you can make?

“I can’t lose weight because…” is one of the most destructive weight loss statements you can say. This statement admits failure. It says you are not going to lose weight. It says you have given up. It also is a destructive statement because it is the beginning of the excuses. It is the beginning of an excuse not to start losing weight, and it is a justification for doing nothing about your weight.

What you need to do is to change the above statement to, “I will lose weight because…” The statement, “I will lose weight because…” says that you are looking for reasons to lose weight. You are justifying the decision to lose weight, not looking for excuses not to lose weight.

Therefore, if you want to lose weight, replace the statement, “I can’t lose weight because…” with “I will lose weight because…”
Remember, once you use the phrase “I can’t” you have already lost the battle of the bulge.

Tradeoffs to Lose Weight

When I decided to lose weight, I knew that there would be tradeoffs that I would have to make in order to reach my goal.
Tradeoffs like:
• Waking up 30 minutes early to get 20 minutes of exercise
• Choosing healthier snacks most of the time
• Switching to either sugar-free drinks or water
• Eating a couple of bananas for lunch instead of going out for fast food
• Not going up for seconds

Now what did I get for these tradeoffs:
• I lost 50 pounds
• I have more energy
• I am at my college weight
• I have lower blood pressure. It was fine before but now it is even better.
• I feel better
• I get around easier
• I like the way the person in the mirror looks
• I have a better chance of a longer and healthier future

These weight-loss tradeoffs make it all worth it. Now it’s your turn.

Deserve a Healthier Future

Do you deserve a healthy future? There is an old saying that holds true with respect to your health, and it goes like this, “You don’t always get what you want, but you usually get what you deserve.” If you are overweight, if you don’t exercise, you are abusing your body. Now, with that said, you may want good health, but do you truly deserve it? This may sound a little harsh, but often times we need to hear the truth, so that we can move forward in a positive way. Also, the good news is that we can earn a better future if we make a decision and follow through on lowering our weight.

Here are a few things that you can do to merit a healthier tomorrow:
* Lower the quantity of food you eat
* Eat more fruit and vegetables
* Make exercise a number one priority
* Drink less alcoholic drinks
* Take a healthy lunch to work
* Reduce or eliminate surgery sodas
* Lower your junk food intake
* Lower your weight
* Avoid skipping meals
* Avoid going up for seconds

So, if you keep your weight down then there is a better chance that you will have and justify a less painful future then someone that does not.
Are you overweight? If so, let’s make the decision to drop the weight, let’s start the process, and do not quit until the weight is off. Your future can be healthier, if you make your weight loss a priority and follow it with the right actions.

How to Eliminate Hunger Pangs

I am often asked how to eliminate hunger pangs (some people like to say, “hunger Pains”). I tell them there are a few solutions that I have found.
1) Find an activity to occupy your mind for an hour, and the pangs will usually go away on their own.

2) Give your stomach something small and healthy to fill the void. A fist of peanuts or sun flower seeds, and a diet soda always does the trick for me.

3) An intense workout usually also does the trick.

4) Drink a large glass of water.

Remember, if you want to eliminate hunger pangs (eliminate hunger pains) give one of these solutions a try.

Today’s Decisions | Tomorrow’s Health

Every day we make decisions. What do I eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? What snacks to I eat? What do I drink? How much will I eat and drink? What activities will I do?

These decisions are made multiple times throughout the day, whether we are mindful of them or not.

These decisions will impact tomorrow’s health. These decisions will become our future.

Our health is our reality. If our health is not good, our future is not good. If our health is good, our options are plentiful. Therefore, let’s be mindful of our daily decisions and let’s have the future that we want.

Tomorrow’s health starts with today’s decisions. Decide wisely.

Get Excited to Lose Weight

Most overweight people hate and fear the idea of losing weight. They hate and fear the thought of eating healthier. They hate and fear the thought exercising. However, one of the best ways to lose weight is to get excited about doing it. Motivation and excitement go hand in hand. When people are excited, they get motivated and weight loss will occur. When people become excited they will do what needs to be done in order to lose weight.

What is there to be excited about you may be asking? People should be excited about their future. They should be excited about the prospect of looking and feeling better. They should be excited about the idea of having a healthier future.

If you are a person who puts off losing weight, you will probably find that it is largely due to a lack of excitement and motivation to do it. Excitement is a key to weight-loss success. This is because we as humans we tend not to do long term what we are not excited about.

Therefore, if you want to lose weight and keep it off for a lifetime, get excited and let’s get started.

Are You Happy With the Things That Your Weight Brings? | Happy With Your Weight?

If you are overweight, how are your knees? How are your hips? Do you find it easy to get out of bed? Is it a lot of work putting on a pair of pants?

Being overweight poses some challenges at times. Mobility tends to slow down as weight goes up. Additionally, joint pain tends to increase as weight goes up.

How can we eliminate these challenges? How about losing some weight? As we lose weight, we become more mobile. Our joints have less weight on them. We feel better. We have more energy.

Why would we not want that? Think about it and let’s get started on a healthier future.
