Weight Loss Surgery
One of the best ways that you can avoid weight-loss surgery is not to let yourself get that big to begin with. Make it a goal to first stop gaining weight. Then work on lowering your weight. If you are obese, one of the hardest things to do is to change. It is hard to change those unhealthy habits that got you where you were at.
If you are obese, you are probably using food as a way to make you feel good. It is a diversion for your problems. What you need to realize is that it is short term. It is a short-term diversion that doesn’t solve the problems. It just causes you not to think about them for a few minutes. Furthermore, using food as a diversion actually will create its own set of problems.
Let’s get back to surgery. I don’t like surgery if I can avoid it. I have seen people get weight-loss surgery and still gain some of the weight back. They don’t gain it all back, but they do gain some back. If you truly want to lose weight, you need to get to make the decision, get your head in the game, get the right motivation, and get started. There are thousands of stories of people losing hundreds of pounds, without surgery. If they can do it, you can also. There are many resources available to help. Psychologists, hypnotists, nutritionists, and of course, my books, “Don’t Diet! Just Think And Get Thin” and “Nibbles Of Encouragement” can help.
If you are obese, it is important to make the right choice for yourself on how to resolve your weight problem. Either way, choose to be thinner, healthier, and get started.
One last word of advice, if you opt for surgery, make sure that you opt to start living healthier, from this day forward so that your surgery is a launch pad for a healthier thinner future.
