Make it a priority in your life. If you make it a priority, you will make the time, and you will be persistent at it. Additionally if you enjoy the process, you will tend to be persistent at it. Persistence pays off. Weight loss comes to those who are persistent.

Be persistent and watch the needle on the scale go down.

Focus and Slim Down

Staying focused is an important part of losing weight and maintaining it after it is lost. The main reason I see that people gain the weight back after losing it, is that they lose their focus. After losing weight people tend to believe that they are done. What happens is that they take their focus away from their weight. Their old bad habits creep back. The weight comes back slowly. Before they realize it, they have the weight back sometimes with interest. Focus is important while you are losing weight. However, it is even more important after the weight is lost.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, never lose your focus and always pay attention to your weight, and the habits that allowed you to get your weight down.

Overweight or Chubby?

If you are not ready for a little tough love, don’t read this article.

Shakespeare said, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Are you overweight or are you chubby? The answer is that it’s the same. If you are noticeably heavy, then you are overweight no matter what you want to call it. The question should be, what are you going to do about it?

Are you going to work at getting the weight off or are you going to use softer words so that you can avoid it? If you truly want to do something about it, then the question is, what are you going to do to start? It can be something simple and small as long as you move forward.

It can be as simple as…

  • not putting sugar on your cereal
  • going for a walk after dinner
  • Exercising in front of the TV
  • Eat lighter and healthier lunches
  • Anything will do as long as you start. My parting question to you is this, what one thing are you going to do today to start the weight-loss process?

    Thin is an attitude. Thin is a way of life. If you want to be thin, you will need to develop a thin attitude. What is a thin attitude you may be asking? It is about developing thin habits. Habits that thin people have that keep them thin. A thin attitude means that they enjoy exercising so they do it regularly. A thin attitude is eating healthy and light because they want to. A thin attitude is not just about having thin habits it is about wanting, having, and enjoying habits that keep them thin.

    If you want a thin attitude, find exercises that you enjoy doing. Find healthy foods that you enjoy eating, and you will be on the road to having a thin attitude.

    When I was in the weight loss process, I had many ups and downs. At times, the weight came off easy, and at times it didn’t. At times, I got a little depressed, but I remembered the above quote from Winston Churchill and never quit. Success does not go to people who quit. Success goes to people who struggle. Success goes to people who work at it. Weight-loss success goes to people who refuse to quit.

    Therefore, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, be persistent, consistent, and refuse to quit.

    On the temple of Apollo in Greece is inscribed words translated “moderation in all things.” Even thousands of years ago the ancient Greeks knew the value of moderation. Over the years, people have forgotten this concept. However, if we want to lose weight, we need to embrace and live this concept. Moderation is one of the keys to weight loss. Gluttony is the key to weight gain. Moderation to lose weight means balancing the foods you love with healthy foods.

    Moderation means a reasonable portion size so that weight loss happens. Moderation means a scoop of ice cream not a bowl. Moderation equals weight loss. My mother-in-law, who lived to the age of 96 years old, was active and mobile until the end. She lived the rule of moderation and lived a long healthy life. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, listen to Apollo and remember to always have moderation with your eating.

    Easy Way to Lose Weight | Small Changes

    The process of losing weight can be easy if you are persistent and patient. One sure-fire way to lose weight is to start with one meal and see how you can make it light, healthy, and enjoyable. I started with breakfast. I found a few items I enjoyed having then I rotated them. After I successfully did this for a few days, I moved to doing this with my lunch. I then work on my snacks. I decided that I would allow myself one meal to eat what I wanted, and I picked dinner. However, I reduced my portion sizes until weight came off. At the same time, I start exercising regularly. Losing weight is about balance and moderation. It is also about making changes that are acceptable to you long term. These changes can be small. Remember, many small changes can add up to big results.

    When it comes to losing weight, there are just two kinds of people, excusers and doers.

    Excusers will say things like:

  • I don’t have time to exercise.
  • I am too busy.
  • I will do it after…
  • I can’t do that.
  • It is a bad thyroid (when their doctor has not verified it)
  • It is hereditary.
  • Doers say things like:

  • I will lose weight.
  • I will get it done.
  • I will make the time to exercise.
  • Losing weight is my number-one priority.
  • Being an excuser or a doer is a choice. Therefore, my question to you is this, “Which one are you, an excuser or a doer?”

    The concept of losing weight is simple. It is basically taking in fewer calories than you burn. However, it is not always simple or easy implementing the basics. However, you don’t have to make it complicated. Sometimes large changes need to be made. Other times it is just a few small changes that need to be made. Either way, changes need to be made. Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” Change is required to lose weight and keep it off. If you want to lose weight get back to the basics, make the changes necessary to make it happen and get the results you deserve.

    If you are overweight and need to lose weight, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for a heart attack or stroke before you make that commitment to lose weight? Are you waiting for a family member or close friend to die of weight-related issues before it hits home? Are you waiting for your joints to start needing replacement before you start the process? What will get you to start? It is harder to lose weight if you have to. It is easier to lose weight when you want to. Let’s make the decision to lose weight on our terms and not when our health forces us to. When our health forces us to lose weight, it may be too late to reverse the damages.

    We only get one body in this life and replacement parts are painful to install. Let’s decide to lose weight and let’s look forward to a healthier future.
