Personally, I am not a fan of weight-loss supplements. I am a fan of vitamin supplements. Here’s why. First if all we don’t know the long-term effect of weight-loss supplements on the body. How do weight-loss supplements affect the liver? How do weight-loss supplements affect the kidneys? Secondly, they can’t be used forever, so what happens when you stop? People tell me all the time that they will use them until they drop the weight, and then they will stop. However, when they stop the weight returns, usually with some interest. Losing weight is hard for most people. However, keeping it off can be a challenge, especially if you don’t learn how to do it without the help of weight-loss supplements.

Vitamin supplements are different. During the weight loss process you will probably start exercising, and although you will probably start eating healthier, your body may need more nutrients than you are taking in. If your body has what it needs, your metabolism will run optimally, and you will burn more calories. That is why I am a fan of vitamin supplements.

Therefore, skip the weight-loss supplements and look at what vitamins will be good for you to start taking.

To reach any goal, including losing weight, certain things need to happen. One of which is developing a consistent attitude for the foundations of your goal.

When it comes to losing weight, one of those foundations is exercise. To lose weight you will need to develop a consistent attitude with your exercising. This means you will need to add exercise and physical activity into your daily routine.

A second thing that you will need to have is a consistent attitude with your eating, if you want to lose weight. That does not always mean that you have to eat healthy. However, it does mean that you consistently need to work towards eating healthier.

Therefore, if you want to lose weight, develop a consistent attitude towards it.

I Woke Up Thinner

One morning, many years ago, I woke up, and I was thin. It was the first time in many years I actually looked and felt thin. It wasn’t that I was fat the day before; it was the first time I felt that I was thin. I had that wow moment. It was the moment that it hit me. It was the moment that I realized that I had succeeded. I finally won the first round of the weight-loss battle (the next round is keeping the weight off).

You can have that wow moment also. You can succeed. You can win at losing weight. All you need is the right motivation, determination, and persistence to succeed, and one day you will wake up thin.

Most overweight people are looking for the quick weight loss cure. They are looking for the magic pill. They are looking for the quick weight loss fix. The problem is that they never find it. They chase one fad after another with no or limited success. What’s the answer you may be asking? The answer is motivation, determination, and courage.

When you have the right motivation, you will have the right determination and courage to do it. When you have the right motivation, you won’t look for the quick and easy way to lose weight you will just do it. When you are motivated you won’t talk about it, you will take action. The cure to weight loss is pure motivation.

One of the best techniques to lose weight is to use the 20-Minute Rule. What is the 20-Minute Rule you may be asking? The 20-Minute Rule is that you eat a reasonable portion, and if you still feel hungry, wait 20 minutes before eating more. The hunger usually goes away. This is because it takes 20 minutes for your stomach to send the signal to your brain that it is full. That’s one of the reasons that people tend to overeat. They get false readings from their stomach long after they are physically full. Therefore, if you want to stop overeating, set the fork down, and wait 20 minutes.

Remember that the 20-Minute Rule does not mean you should eat a Twinkie every 20 minutes.

  • Losing weight is about doing.
  • Losing weight is not about talking about it.
  • Losing weight is not about sitting around.
  • Losing weight is not about complaining about it.
  • It is about doing.
  • It is about having a positive attitude.
  • It is about having determination.
  • It is about being consistent.
  • However, at the end of the day, it’s all about getting it done.

    Gym Etiquette

    Going to the gym is a great way to lose weight and get fit. However, it can come with its own set of challenges. These challenges come in the form of people either not knowing or not caring about proper gym etiquette. If you what to be respectful to others, here are few things you need to know.

    Cell Phones
    Minimize your cell phone usage at the gym. It is very rude and distracting to hold on a cell phone conversation while on a weight machine. If you have to be on the phone, keep it short and to the point and then get off.

    Re-Racking Weights
    It’s rude not to put the weights back where they belong. There is nothing more frustrating and time-consuming than to have to hunt down the weights you want to use.

    Wipe Down the Equipment
    Wipe down the equipment when you are done. It is disgusting to walk up to use a piece of exercise equipment and have it dripping with someone else’s sweat.

    Towel
    Wrap a towel around you in the locker room. No one wants to see you naked.

    Wash Your Hands Before and After Working Out
    Washing your hands before and after exercising can help stop the spread of colds and other germs.

    Don’t Be a Machine Hog
    It is frustrating having to wait for a machine. It is even more frustrating when someone decides to spend 20 minutes on a machine. It is a good idea to offer to share between your sets.

    Put Your Stuff in a Locker
    Don’t leave your gym bag or water bottle where it will get in the way of others.

    Wear Clean Clothing
    One use is the max for wearing your gym clothes. Otherwise you stink people out.

    Nobody Wants to Hear Your Conversations
    When talking to people at the gym. Keep your vice down.

    Don’t Spit in the Water Fountain
    This grosses out the person behind you.

    Your number one goal is to get is to shape. Your number two goal should be to do it without irritating anyone.

    When we are losing weight consistently we take it for granted. We then start to take these results as expectations. However, when weight loss does not happen as fast as expected or when it stops we start to adopt a doom and gloom attitude.

    This is not a time to develop this attitude. This is the time to realize that you have lost some weight and can lose more. It is the time to tweak some things so that you can succeed. A lull does not mean defeat. It means a rethink. It means taking one small adjustment after another until you get the results you desire.

    Success is in your grasp. Go for it!
