Weight Train to Lose Weight

Last week I mentioned that you don’t need to sweat to exercise. That is for people that want to exercise but don’t really want the stuff that goes with it like sweating. I feel that I would rather have someone go for a leisurely walk than no walk at all.

However, there is nothing that beats a good, hard, sweaty workout. My favorite exercise is running, but I have added weight training to the mix a few months ago. Although weight training builds muscle it also can cause you to lose weight. It is generally good to include full-body weight training to your exercise routine two to three days of the week. The reason is this. Strength training will break down your muscles, which causes your body to repair them. This takes a lot of energy and helps to boost your metabolism causing your body to burn fat while building muscle.
