Ways to Get Rid of Exercise Boredom

Getting bored with exercise can easily cause you to quit. Therefore, it is important to find ways to eliminate boredom with your exercise routine so that you will do it long term. Below are a few things you can consider.

1. Mix it up. When I was losing weight, I ran just about every day. I love to run. After years of running, I still enjoy it, however, I have added weight training to my routine. It breaks up the exercise boredom, especially in the winter. In the summer, I run outside. In the winter, I run on an indoor track. Indoor tracks can get boring. Therefore, I have substituted a couple of my running days with weight training to mix it up.

2. Look for fun exercises to do. If you are like most people, you will continue to do exercises that are fun, long term.

3. Play with the kids. They can help you burn a lot of calories.

4) Train for a charity walk or run. It is a great way to give back, burn lots of calories, and get in shape.

5) Get new exercises accessories. Using an exercise mat, exercise ball, or an exercise band can add a new dimension to your workout, making it fun.
