How Do I Conquer Food Cravings?

The best way to handle food cravings is to keep yourself very busy. How busy you may be asking? Keep yourself so busy that you don’t think about food.

Like a lot of people, I tend to eat when I am bored. I tend to notice my hunger when I am bored. However, I notice that when I am very busy, I don’t have time to think about food. Therefore, I always try to keep myself busy. I try to keep myself so busy that I don’t have time to think about food, let alone have cravings.

The second option is to eat lower calorie foods. When I crave sugar, I will eat plain yogurt with fresh fruit mixed in or eat some sweet fruit, like pineapple. This gets rid of the cravings, and my weight thanks me.

Therefore, two options for conquering food cravings are to keep yourself busy or replace the unhealthy craving with a healthier one.

As a side note, it is okay to give in to your cravings periodically as long as you keep the portion size small. Additionally don’t totally give up your favorite foods, it will do nothing but drive you batty.
