Make Your Own Salad Dressing – Weight Loss Tip

Bottled dressings can be a calorie nightmare. Two tablespoons of blue cheese dressing contain about 140 calories along with 14 grams of fat. An alternative is to mix your own dressing together. Mix two parts lemon juice to one part olive oil. Put your dressing into a spray bottle and spray on your salad for better portion control.

How Do I Conquer Food Cravings?

How Do I Conquer Food Cravings?

The best way to handle food cravings is to keep yourself very busy. How busy you may be asking? Keep yourself so busy that you don’t think about food.

Like a lot of people, I tend to eat when I am bored. I tend to notice my hunger when I am bored. However, I notice that when I am very busy, I don’t have time to think about food. Therefore, I always try to keep myself busy. I try to keep myself so busy that I don’t have time to think about food, let alone have cravings.

The second option is to eat lower calorie foods. When I crave sugar, I will eat plain yogurt with fresh fruit mixed in or eat some sweet fruit, like pineapple. This gets rid of the cravings, and my weight thanks me.

Therefore, two options for conquering food cravings are to keep yourself busy or replace the unhealthy craving with a healthier one.

As a side note, it is okay to give in to your cravings periodically as long as you keep the portion size small. Additionally don’t totally give up your favorite foods, it will do nothing but drive you batty.

Easy Way to Lose Weight

Make Healthy Eating Easy

Change your routine and make healthy eating easy. If you don’t have ice cream in the freezer, it can’t call for you in the middle of the night.

Instead, eat almonds, which are great for leveling the highs and lows of stress. Eat a half-cup of plain oats, which contains fiber and other ingredients that has a calming effect, and can help you sleep.

Alternately, you can go for a run, or do any high-intensity workouts to help relieve stress.

Therefore, keep healthy food and snacks around the house to make healthy eating effortless and exercise instead of snacking to relieve stress.

Children’s Menu – Weight Loss Tip

Children’s Menu – Weight Loss Tip

Scale, Weight Loss success

Children’s Menu

Ever since I lost 50 pounds over eight years ago, I shy away from going to fast-food restaurants except for maybe a cup of coffee in the morning. I make it a habit to keep food in the car for lunch. However, on the rare occasions, I have to go to a fast-food restaurant for lunch; I have made it a rule to eat one item off the children’s menu. You may be thinking that it is not a healthy thing to do. However, the calories you get from a children’s meal is not going to ruin your weight loss endeavor.

If you are thinking that it is not enough food for you. You are wrong. It is enough food. If you think, it isn’t, you need to rethink it.

Over the years, you have convinced yourself that you need to eat more than your body actually needs. The rule of thumb is that if you feel really full, you ate way too much. You should eat enough food that the hunger is gone without feeling really full. This can be accomplished by eating a little and then waiting 20 Minutes and eating a little more. A children’s menu item is enough to hold you over until dinner and still allow you to stay on track. It is also available at most fast-food restaurants. Therefore, if you want to stay on the weight loss track, eat off the children’s menu.

Weight Loss Nutrition

Losing weight is one of the best things that any overweight person can do for themselves. However, it is also important to get the right nutrition. This includes getting the right amount protein. If you exercise and are losing weight, there is a chance that you are losing some muscle mass. This is why it is important to make sure that you are taking in enough protein.

It is also important that you intake other vital nutrients. First, it is important to get your nutrients by eating healthier. It is also a good idea to get additional nutrients through vitamin and protein supplements. The key is to make sure that you have the right balance between healthy foods, and supplements without overdoing the supplements. This balance will be different for everyone depending on body makeup, weight, and activity level. The more activity for instance the more nutrients your body needs.

It is a good idea to consult a nutritionist or doctor before taking on this task.

Remember that the harder you exercise, the more nutrients your body will require.

Eat Healthy, Enjoy, and Lose Weight

Eat Healthy

Over seven years ago I lost 50 pounds in four months. How did I do it you may be asking? I did it by changing the way I think about food, exercise, and the weight loss process. Today I want to address the subject of food and the weight-loss process.

Many people I talk to are scared to lose weight because they think they have to starve themselves and when they do eat, they think that they have to eat bad tasting food.

This is far from the truth. Yes, you need to start eating healthy food. However, it does not have to taste bad, and you don’t need to starve yourself. Additionally, you totally don’t have to give up your favorite foods.

The issue is this. If you feel that weight loss is going to be torture. You will find ways to make it that way. If you feel that weight loss is good and can be easy, you will find a way to make it happen.

When I started the weight loss process, I starved myself, ate celery, and ate rice cakes. After about a week of driving myself crazy I came with the realization that if I wanted to lose weight for the long term, I was going to have to do something differently. I was going to have to figure out how to eat healthier, enjoy what I was eating, and lose weight. This and only this would set me up for long-term success.

This is about balance. It is about balancing the food I love in proper portions with healthier foods for a new way of long-term eating. It worked. I eat two low-calorie healthy meals and one higher-calorie, lower portion meal for long-term weight-loss success.

If you want to lose weight, find a balanced eating approach that you can live with from this point forward and get started.

Control Your Weight Over the Holidays – Manage Your Weight

Manage Your Weight – Control Your Weight Over the Holidays

The holidays are quickly approaching. Holidays that are filled with lots of foods and drink everywhere. During this time, it is easy to say to yourself, “Don’t worry about the holidays, I will lose weight after the first of the year.” Most overweight people don’t want to hear what I am about to say next. However, it is important, and has to be said.

This is a poor attitude, and although you may have good intensions, it does not show commitment, or a strong desire to lose weight. Losing weight requires a strong desire to lose weight. A strong desire to lose weight does not put it off. People with a strong desire to lose weight turn losing weight into an emergency and starts the process now, not after they have pigged out for over a month.

The reason I see that some people want to wait until after the first of the year is that they feel that they deserve to over eat during the holidays. They feel that if they watch what they eat over the holidays, they will not be able to enjoy the holidays. Whether you want to believe it or not, you can enjoy the holidays without eating everything in sight.

Additionally, let’s say you lose the weight after the first of the year because you want to “enjoy the holidays,” what are you going to do next year after you lose the weight? Are you going to pig out, gain weight, and enjoy the holidays? If we are going to lose weight and keep it off, at some point we will need to start going through the holidays without losing control. Therefore, if you are serious about losing weight and not just trying to make yourself feel better about pigging out, then let’s start now, and let’s get a head start heading into the first of the year.

Next week I will give you specific tips on How to Control Your Weight Over the Holidays.
