Will Eating After 8 pm Make You Gain Weight?

It depends upon the number of calories you intake over a 24-hour period of time. It doesn’t matter what the clock says when you eat. However, the evenings are when most people to tend to overeat.

Most snacking is done in the evening. If snacking is done wrong, it can destroy your daily calorie limit. Therefore, eat after 8pm if you like, just watch your intake other times of the day.

Should I Eat Slowly to Lose Weight?

I grew up in a house with five kids. My mother made a limited amount of food and when it was gone, it was gone. I learned to eat really fast. Still today that habit has plagued myself and my siblings. However, to get and stay thin, I constantly have to remind myself to eat slower. Why is it a good idea to eat slower? The answer is simple. Your body takes 20 minutes to send the “full” signal to your brain. If you eat fast you will keep eating because your brain still thinks you are hungry. If you eat slower, your brain will acknowledge that you are full, before your overeat.

Therefore, the best way to lose weight is to eat slower; take breaks in-between each fork, so that you waste time until your brain catches up with your stomach.

Make A Daily To-Do List to Get Thinner

A good thing to do to help you stay focused on your weight loss goal is to create a daily to-do list. This simple idea can benefit you when starting on your weight loss and fitness journey.
Changing habits can be difficult. However, when you have a to-do list, you have written down what you want to do the next day.

Having healthy foods and exercise on the top of the list will help guide your choices for the day.
Keep it short and simple so that making the list does not become a chore.

The night before, write down what you are going to have for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, pre-dinner snack, dinner, and after dinner snack. Additionally, add the exercise you are going to do, along with the intensity and time you are going to give it.

Lastly, before bedtime, review your list to see how you did. Then create your list for the next day.

Remember, when you create a list, and stick to that list, and make a habit of doing it, you will be on the road to a healthier future.

Some people think that they can just lose weight and then go back to what they were doing before they lost the weight, and then magically the weight will stay off. This is far from the truth. Yes, you can ease up a bit. However, the weight loss fight is just beginning. It is important to remember, that your weight-loss journey is a long term one, and you need to plan for that. Quick diets may work for the short term. However, they are not long-term solutions. We need to look for solutions that we are willing to do long term. This will ensure success long term. Remember,

Long-Term Solutions = Long-Term Weight Loss Success

Easy Way to Lose Weight | Small Changes

The process of losing weight can be easy if you are persistent and patient. One sure-fire way to lose weight is to start with one meal and see how you can make it light, healthy, and enjoyable. I started with breakfast. I found a few items I enjoyed having then I rotated them. After I successfully did this for a few days, I moved to doing this with my lunch. I then work on my snacks. I decided that I would allow myself one meal to eat what I wanted, and I picked dinner. However, I reduced my portion sizes until weight came off. At the same time, I start exercising regularly. Losing weight is about balance and moderation. It is also about making changes that are acceptable to you long term. These changes can be small. Remember, many small changes can add up to big results.

How Will You Lose Weight?

After you make a list of your options on how you will lose the weight, will you choose: easy, proven, certain, fun, convenient, known, unknown, important, urgent, or a challenging way to lose weight? Will you ask everyone for their advice, or will you pick what’s right for you in the long run? How will you lose weight? Losing weight is a personal decision. How you lose it is also a personal decision. There are many ways to lose weight. However, there may be only one way that you are willing to live with long term. Identify that option and that will be your method for long-term weight loss.

There is no perfect answer. However, knowing which way is right for you is the best way to move forward and lose the weight you desire, for a lifetime.

Tradeoffs to Lose Weight

When I decided to lose weight, I knew that there would be tradeoffs that I would have to make in order to reach my goal.
Tradeoffs like:
• Waking up 30 minutes early to get 20 minutes of exercise
• Choosing healthier snacks most of the time
• Switching to either sugar-free drinks or water
• Eating a couple of bananas for lunch instead of going out for fast food
• Not going up for seconds

Now what did I get for these tradeoffs:
• I lost 50 pounds
• I have more energy
• I am at my college weight
• I have lower blood pressure. It was fine before but now it is even better.
• I feel better
• I get around easier
• I like the way the person in the mirror looks
• I have a better chance of a longer and healthier future

These weight-loss tradeoffs make it all worth it. Now it’s your turn.

How Much Weight to Lose

When setting a weight loss goal people generally are confused on what weight they should go after. The best way to know your optimum weight is to consult with your doctor. He or she can give you a healthy weight range to shoot for. Once you have this weight, the next thing to do is to create a weight-loss plan to reach this goal. This weight-loss plan needs to have two main elements. This weight-loss plan needs to be something that you are willing to do long-term, or it will fail. It needs to be a new way of eating. You will need to increase your activity. Additionally, your exercise plan needs to be something that you will be willing to do from this day forward. This goal also needs to be broken up into smaller goals to reach along the way. This helps you to stay motivated as you reach your overall goal. It also gives you the confidence that you can do it. As you reach a goal, your motivation increases and helps keep you focused.

Knowing what weight to set as an end goal is important. However, you need to remember that it is also important to start.

Shortcuts to Losing Weight

Most people are willing to spend some time and money for a shortcut to lose weight. This is because in other areas of their lives, shortcuts pay off, and it reinforces their belief that there just might be an easier way. What I have found is that those who spend too much energy chasing shortcuts are often disappointed and usually fail.

There are no shortcuts to losing weight. That does not mean that you have to hate it. I realize I become stress free and relaxed after a good workout, and really enjoy exercising for how I feel afterwards. I realized that eating lighter and healthier gives me more energy in the afternoon.

Losing weight and getting fit does not have to be painful. If you concentrate on the benefits, you may actually enjoy the process. That’s why I lost 50 lbs in four months and have kept it off over eight years now.

Shortcuts are not the answer. The key is to dig deep inside you and find a way to enjoy the journey.
