Change Some Things to Lose Weight

Have you ever attempted to lose weight but didn’t? Maybe the weight loss plan wasn’t the problem, perhaps it was your habits.

Many people don’t understand that their habits and daily choices have an impact on their weight-loss success. These bad habits that are part of their daily lives are difficult to break. However, making better choices will help people hit their weight-loss goals.

To have weight-loss success you need to improve your eating habits. You need to start eating a little healthier. Track your food intake and activities for a few days. This will allow you to see what foods are holding you back from achieving your weight-loss goals.

After you find what foods are holding you back, replace them with healthier options. Add more fiber to you meals. Add whole grain breads, whole grain cereals, brown rice, fruits, and vegetables to your food intake.

Start exercising. Start slow and build up. Going for a walk is a great place to start.

Remember how long it took you to get this way. Change takes time. Create a plan and ease yourself into healthier habits and the weight will come off.

Replace Those Bad Habits To Lose Weight

Bad habits can be hard to lose. Many of them don’t even know they are doing them because they have been doing them for so long, they don’t know any different. I know because I was there.

Now is the time to change. Replace the mindset that you have to eat it all. Get rid of the mindset that you have to clean your plate before you can leave the table.

Now is the time to change. Eat smaller portion sizes. Take a smaller piece. When eating out, order from the children’s menu so that the portion size is smaller, or take some of it home for another meal.

If you can identify and replace some of those bad eating habits, you will lose the weight you desire.

Don’t Return to Bad Habits To Stay Leaner

Everyday I meet people who invested time and energy in losing weight only to gain it back. If you worked hard making healthier eating choices and exercising regularly and did well you, probably lost weight. You probably felt better, and were convinced that this time, your new and improved weight, and healthier habits were going to stay. However, something happened. Your routine changed. Your work schedule changed, or your family routine changed. You made one bad food choice after another. You started skipping more and more workouts, and before you knew it, you’re overweight again. When life changes, and your routine changes, that is the time you need to remain vigilant. The real test of your new weight will be when your life changes, when life gets crazy, when it gets stressful. That will be the determination on whether you will remain thin. Watch for it happening and deal with it before the weight returns.

Know Your Bad Habits To Lose Weight – Weight Loss Tip

One of the ways that you can start losing weight is to sit down and create a list of the poor eating and health habits you currently have. Afterward, develop a weight loss plan and solutions that will work for you. If you don’t know where to start, start out with small changes. They can have a big impact on your weight-loss success and are the easiest to do. Use that list as your to-do list and check off every habit that you break. Never go back to that old bad habit again by using that checkmark as your commitment.

Weight Loss: Make a Commitment to Lose Weight

If you are not committed to losing weight, you can be tempted. Write this down and think about this every time you are ready to give in to temptation.  Think about this every time you are at a party and everyone else is pigging out.  Think about this every time you are deciding whether to attack the snacks.   Ask yourself this question, am I really committed if I eat this?  If you come home tired on a workout day, and you start to think about skipping it, ask yourself again, am I really committed?  This is because if you are not committed you can be tempted.  A matter of fact, if you are not totally committed, then for all practical purposes, you are not committed at all, because once again, there will always be something that will tempt you. 

See, most people don’t quit losing weight, they just slowly move back into their old bad habits.  They start by eating more than they should or eat a lot of something they shouldn’t and don’t make up for it the next day.   So make sure you are committed and do all the right things, so that you don’t go in a direction you don’t want to be going.

What does being totally committed to weight loss mean?

  • It means not just talking about losing weight but backing it up with consistent action
  • It means making the right choices not just the easy ones
  • It means practicing delayed gratification so that you can get the results you want
  • It means not envying what other people are eating because they will soon be envying you for your results
  • It means you will need to focus on the commitment, and you will need to commit to being focused

 

What does being totally committed to weight loss NOT mean?

  • It does not mean that you will not make any mistakes.  Making mistakes is part of the process, as long as you learn from them.   I made many mistakes and so will you.
  • It does not mean that you won’t have obstacles, but it does mean that you will not quit.  It just means that you will need to find a way over, around or through the obstacles you encounter.

 

Finally, if you want to lose weight, you will need to commit totally to it, half a commitment just won’t work.
