Wake up Thinner

One morning, many years ago, I woke up, and I was thin. It was the first time in many years I actually looked and felt thin. It wasn’t that I was fat the day before; it was the first time I felt that I was thin. I had that wow moment. It was the moment that it hit me. It was the moment that I realized that I had succeeded. I finally won the first round of the weight-loss battle (the next round is keeping the weight off).

You can have that wow moment also. You can succeed. You can win at losing weight. All you need is the right motivation, determination, and persistence to succeed, and one day you will wake up thin.

The Pursuit of Becoming Thinner

Become Thinner

Are you scared to lose weight? Are you constantly jumping to the diet of the week just so that you have something to talk to your friends about? Are you a career dieter? Are you always on the pursuit of becoming thinner with little results? If this is you, there is hope. The first thing that you need to do is to answer a few tough questions. Why do you want to lose weight? Why haven’t you been able to lose it?

You need to answer these honestly and without excuses. Why hasn’t jumping from diet to diet been working? Is it that you are chasing the magic pill to lose weight? Are you willing to lose weight only if it is easy? Let’s be honest now.

Losing weight is work. Losing weight takes trade offs. However, it is worth it. Never look at losing weight as hard. Look at it as a fun challenge. Look at it as a challenge that you will win. Forget the easy diet because there isn’t one. Get your head in the game and find the right balance between healthy foods and your favorite comfort foods, and you will lose weight.

Make the decision to pursuit losing weight once and let’s get it done.

Get The Right Nutrients To Become Thinner

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

One reason that people become overweight is because of bad nutrition. It is the accumulation of many years of bad eating that causes depletions of vitamins and minerals and keeps them from having a healthy metabolism.

Therefore, once you are depleted, your body’s ability to burn fat and metabolize carbohydrates stops because it lacks the resources to do the job. The result is that you gain weight every time you eat.
In addition, if you want to succeed in losing weight, it may not be a bad idea to start restoring the right nutrition to your body so it will have everything that it needs to run optimally and to metabolize fat.

Remember to talk to your doctor before starting any weight loss program and nutrition program.

Walk 45-60 Minutes A Day To Become Thinner

Friday, February 4th, 2011

A Duke University study found that 30 minutes of daily walking is enough to prevent weight gain in most people, however, walking longer than 30 minutes results in weight and fat loss. Burning additional calories daily with a brisk walk of 45-60 minutes could help you lose 30 pounds in a year. A link to the article I read discussing the study is below.

Full Article – http://www.dukehealth.org/health_library/news/7325

Now let’s get out there and start walking.

Walk Up and Down the Stairs to Lose weight

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Stairway to weight Loss (should be a song, lol)
The Centers for Disease Control says that’s all it takes to help you lose as much as 10 pounds a year is to walk up and down the stair 10 minutes a day. However, it assumes that you don’t increase your food intake. Therefore, the more you walk the more weight you can lose. It is as easy as that. However, consistency is a key to weight loss. Therefore, it is important to make walking into a habit.

Weight Loss Regrets : You Will Never Regret Giving Losing Weight 100%

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Everyday we have regrets.  I should have done this.  I would have been better off if  I had done that.  I could have done this, but I didn’t.  Does this sound familiar?  We all have done this.  All of us have had regrets in our lives. The question is what we will do about it.  When faced with situations will we set ourselves up for regrets in the future or will we give 100%.

Everyday I hear people tell me that they have health issues.  I hear, “I should have taken better care of myself” by people who had a heart attack.  I hear “I should have lost weight” by people who were told they have high blood pressure and diabetes.  The ultimate words of regret, “I should have…”

I never hear anyone say, “I should not have loss weight.”  I never hear anyone say, “I should not have become thinner.”  I never hear anyone say, “I wish I didn’t eat healthier.”  I never hear anyone say, “I wish I didn’t give losing weight 100% effort.”   I never hear anyone having regrets for actually losing weight.

There is a good chance that you will have regrets at some time in your life for not losing weight, but you will never have regrets for getting thinner and fitter.  Let’s get thinner and fitter and let’s eliminate that regret in the future.
