Shed the Weight – Lose the Pounds

Monday, May 14th, 2012

The only way you’re going to be successful at losing weight is by burning more calories than you take in. In addition, you need to have patients with your weight loss.

Gaining weight doesn’t happen overnight. Therefore, you should not expect to lose weight overnight.

The following tips can help you shed the weight so that you can lose weight and keep it off:

  • Don’t Diet
  • If you want to lose weight and keep it off, don’t diet. Diets just don’t work. While some diets may initially help you shed the weight, the weight will probably return. I have even witnessed many people gaining more weight back than they lost.

  • Eat
  • If you want to lose weight you need to eat regularly and eat healthier. Give your body, the right foods and it will respond positively (more energy, weight loss, etc.). Give your body junk and it will respond in a way that you may not like (weight gain, lack of energy, etc.).

  • Move it
  • If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you will need to exercise. In addition, regular exercise has many benefits other than weight loss. There are many exercises that you can choose from, but you need to pick one that you enjoy, so that you will want to do it regularly.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you need to develop a weight-loss plan that includes the right foods in the right portions, and you need to exercise regularly.

A Few Good Weight-Loss Habits To Develop

    Thursday, January 26th, 2012

To win at losing weight, you need to develop a good set of healthy habits.

    Eat healthier lower calorie foods

Eat leaner protein and high-fiber foods. This will give you a better chance of losing weight and keeping it off.

    Eat Less – Burn More

Weight loss is about eating less and burning more calories.

    Drink lots of cold water

Drink 8 cups of water daily. This will help with losing weight and keeping it off.

Eat small meals throughout the day

Eating smaller meals of healthier foods can help keep your metabolism up and help you to burn more calories.

    Use a weight-loss journal

A weight-loss journal can help you to lose weight by showing you what and how much you actually eat.

Developing better habits can help you attain and maintain your weight-loss goals.

Weight Loss Regrets : You Will Never Regret Giving Losing Weight 100%

    Friday, September 24th, 2010

Everyday we have regrets.  I should have done this.  I would have been better off if  I had done that.  I could have done this, but I didn’t.  Does this sound familiar?  We all have done this.  All of us have had regrets in our lives. The question is what we will do about it.  When faced with situations will we set ourselves up for regrets in the future or will we give 100%.

Everyday I hear people tell me that they have health issues.  I hear, “I should have taken better care of myself” by people who had a heart attack.  I hear “I should have lost weight” by people who were told they have high blood pressure and diabetes.  The ultimate words of regret, “I should have…”

I never hear anyone say, “I should not have loss weight.”  I never hear anyone say, “I should not have become thinner.”  I never hear anyone say, “I wish I didn’t eat healthier.”  I never hear anyone say, “I wish I didn’t give losing weight 100% effort.”   I never hear anyone having regrets for actually losing weight.

There is a good chance that you will have regrets at some time in your life for not losing weight, but you will never have regrets for getting thinner and fitter.  Let’s get thinner and fitter and let’s eliminate that regret in the future.

Lose Weight by Thinking Thin Thoughts

    Friday, June 25th, 2010

Weight loss is attained and kept by thinking thin thoughts.

I have a favorite saying, and it goes like this, “You must first win the battle of the mind before you can win the battle of the bulge.” Now, with that said part of winning that battle is to think thin thoughts.

What are thin thoughts you may be asking, it is the processes of thinking about what it will be like when you are thin.  Go through your day as if you were a thin person, and make thin choices.  A thin probably exercises regularly, so you exercise more.   A thin person probably eats less, so you eat less.  A thin person probably eats healthier, so you eat healthier.  If you start to think and act like a thin person, you will become thinner.
