Weight Loss Exercise

Weight loss is about taking in less calories than you burn. This means that you can either eat less or exercise more. If you are like I was you will need to do both if you want to lose weight.

I have found that exercise has many benefits:

  • It helps tone you up
  • Build’s strengths
  • Burns calories
  • Increases your metabolism
  • Gives you more energy
  • Exercise is a great way to give your weight loss a boost. The key is to find one that you like and keep doing it. Exercise is not just about short-term success. It is about long-term success, and to have long-term success at exercising you need to do it long term. How do you do it long term? Do an exercise that you enjoy, so that you want to do it regularly.

    The take off from this post is that if you want weight loss, exercise regularly with an exercise that you enjoy.

    Protein Is Your Weight Loss and Fitness Friend

    When possible it is a good idea to include a lean protein source at every meal. The target should be 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. The idea is this. Eating enough protein will keep your nitrogen levels high, which help support your muscular repair and growth. Protein has a thermogenic effect of 30%, which makes it a high thermogenic food in comparison to others. What does this mean you may be asking? This means that for every 100 calories of protein you eat, 30 calories are burned by your body to digest the food. This leaves you with net 70 calories. Therefore, don’t forget to eat your proteins.

    You Can Be 50 And Fit

    Do you think 50 is too old to lose weight and get fit? Well, if you said yes, you are wrong. Weight loss and fitness are not about age. It is about action. Losing weight is about determination. It is about doing what it takes to get it done. It is about making small changes in your eating habits. In addition, fitness is not about age. Fitness is about exercise. It is about wanting to exercise not having to. Therefore, I believe anyone can lose weight if they choose to. Do you choose to?

    Consult Your Doctor Before Losing Weight

    No weight loss or fitness program should be started without the knowledge and supervision of your doctor. Your doctor can answer questions like:

    Should you lose weight?

    How much weight should you lose?

    How you should lose it?

    Do you have any exercise restrictions?

    These questions should be answered by your doctor. If you want to lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off, your doctor must be a part of your weight loss team.

    How To Get Into an Exercise Routine – Schedule It – Part 5 of 5

    Put exercise in your schedule and block off the time. Don’t let anything take that time away. I have a young family and multiple businesses and the demands on my time are great. People are always trying to grab my exercise time. It never fails. I don’t let them. Why? It is because my health comes first. There will always be problems. There will always be things to do. If I am not healthy, it does not matter. My health comes first. So should yours.
