Deal With Your Emotional Eating

If you are an emotional eater, you must learn how to deal with this obstacle if you desire to lose weight and keep it off.

What can you do to deal with emotional overeating?

  • Exercise
  • Exercise is the main thing that helped me deal with emotional eating. This is because exercise helps to reduce stress and improve your mood.

  • Commitment
  • Make a commitment to change your behavior.

  • Be aware
  • Be aware of what’s happening when you eat. When do you do it? What circumstances cause it. Write them down. Make a plan to deal with them.

  • Stress
  • Develop positive ways to reduce your stress (examples: exercise and breathing exercises).

  • Find new activities to replace food.
  • Develop a list of activities that you like to do. When an emotional event happens and you are ready to eat, do something on that list instead of eating (examples: go for a walk, surf the web, pet your animal, play music, take a warm bath, read a book, see a movie, do something in the garden, or just call to a friend).

  • Get sleep
  • It is easier to get emotional and eat when you are tired.

    If you can learn how to deal with your emotional eating, you can lose the weight you desire and keep it off.
