Things to Help You Shed the Weight

Losing weight is not always easy. However, there are some simple things that you can do to help you shed the pounds. Below I have listed a few things that you may want to consider.

  • Be Consistent
  • Losing weight is about consistency. You must be consistent with both your physical activity, types and amount of the foods you eat.

  • Be Determined
  • Determination is important if you want to shed the weight. You must have the attitude that you will not fail at losing weight. Once you lose it you must be determined that you will keep it off.

  • Forgive Yourself
  • You will have days that your weight goes up instead of down. It is these times that you must forgive yourself and move on. You must learn from the mistakes you made that day and figure out how not to repeat them. Mistakes and bad days are part of the weight-loss process. They will happen. How you deal with bad days, and weight-loss mistakes will determine your weight-loss success. Will you beat them, or let them beat you? It is up to you to determine which one it will be.

  • Don’t Give Up
  • Winston Churchill said, “Never never never give up.” This is an important thing to remember if you want to shed the pounds. Remember, you can’t lose weight if you quit. Success in losing weight means that you keep at it until you succeed.

    Losing weight is not all about exercise and food. It is about how you think. Attitude, consistency, determination, and learning from your mistakes are part of being successful at losing weight.

    Useful Weight Loss Tips to Help You Shed the Pounds

    I have assembled a few useful weight loss tips that can help you lose weight and keep it off.

    Portion Control Your Snacks

    When snaking, take a napkin, leave it folded, and put enough to fill 75% of your napkin. This will allow you to enjoy a snack and not destroy your weight loss endeavor.

    Keep Your Weight-Loss Goals in Front of you

    Write your weight-loss goals on the bathroom mirror with a dry eraser marker. Post your weight-loss goals on the refrigerator and snack cabinet. Keep them in front of you all day.

    Keep Healthy Snacks in the Car

    Keep single portion, healthy snacks in the car. This will keep you from the fast-food restaurants.

    Use Lots of Spices

    There are many spices out there that can add great taste to foods without the calories. Weight-loss food does not have to be bland.

    Buy New Clothes

    Weight loss can be fun. As you shed the weight, go out and buy new clothes. It will add to your motivation as you start to see yourself looking good in those new clothes.

    Forgive Yourself

    Everyone makes mistakes. When I was in the weight-loss process, I had days that I blew it. I beat myself up for a few minutes and then found the lesson in that mistake so that I did not do it again.

    What are calories? – Weight Loss Info

    Your body needs a specific number of calories each day to keep your current weight. This is the number of calories your body needs to do everything like exercising, driving your car, brushing your teeth, along with all of your body functions like beating your heat, breathing, etc.

    Calories are potential energy or potential fat. We get these calories, as you know, through the foods we eat. If we eat the exact number of calories, our body requires, our weight stays the same. If we eat more, we gain weight. If we eat less, we lose weight.

    That’s it. At the end of the day your calories spent must be greater than your calories consumed to shed the pounds.

    Don’t Get Discouraged To Shed The Pounds

    It is easy to get discouraged when you want to lose weight and the weight is not coming off as fast as you would like. However, it is important to remember that it didn’t take two weeks to pack on those extra pounds, so it will not take only two weeks to lose them. It is a good idea to focus on a solid weight loss and fitness plan and adhere to it. It needs to be a plan that you are able to live with from this point forward. When you first start out, you should expect your body to resist change to some degree. Trust your plan and don’t be discouraged if you’re not losing weight fast enough. Be patient and the results will come. However, if the weight is not coming off then modify the plan slightly. The difference between losing weight or not may just be a slight modification to your weight loss plan.

    Shed the Pounds : Make a Habit of Activity to Shed the Pounds

    Habit + Activity = Weight Loss
    Instead of sitting on the sofa after dinner, why not go for a walk, clean the garage, clean the house, etc. Making a habit of activity after dinner is a great way to get exercise and work off your dinner. The key words here are activity and habit. Let’s make it a habit to become more active, and you will shed the pounds.

    Holiday Tips For Losing Weight

    Eat Slower Shed the Pounds
    It takes your body about 20 minutes to catch up with your mouth, so eat slowly. In addition, the slower you eat, the less food you will consume in the same amount of time, as if you ate fast. Either way you look at it, you eat less.

    Drink Less to Shed the Pounds
    Alcoholic drinks have lots of unneeded calories. Therefore, drink less or be doomed to gain weight over the holidays.,

    Keep Moving to Lose Weight
    Keep your metabolism high by staying active and exercising during the holidays.

    Eat Something Before A Party to Lose weight
    Have a light, healthy snack just before going to a party. This will help to fill you up so you don’t lose control and over do it.

    If you can follow a few simple tips you can continue to lose weight over the holidays, or at a minimum not gain any weight.

    Most people try to take the fast track to losing weight. They are always looking for the shortcut to losing weight. What they don’t realize is that there are no shortcuts to losing the weight. What they also don’t realize is that if they do actually shed the pounds using shortcuts, the weight won’t stay off. See, what people don’t understand is that the weight loss journey (weight loss process) is as important as the weight loss destination (the weight loss results).

    Why is that you may be asking? Well, though the process of losing weight:

    • You learn how your body works
    • You grow your ability to say, “No thanks, I’ll pass this time.”
    • You develop a lifestyle of balance
    • You experiment with different foods and exercises
    • You see what works for you and what doesn’t
    • You gain insight into why you eat
    • You gain the knowledge to overcome your weight loss obstacles

    • This is where you learn how to overcome your weight loss weaknesses
