Focus and Slim Down

Staying focused is an important part of losing weight and maintaining it after it is lost. The main reason I see that people gain the weight back after losing it, is that they lose their focus. After losing weight people tend to believe that they are done. What happens is that they take their focus away from their weight. Their old bad habits creep back. The weight comes back slowly. Before they realize it, they have the weight back sometimes with interest. Focus is important while you are losing weight. However, it is even more important after the weight is lost.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, never lose your focus and always pay attention to your weight, and the habits that allowed you to get your weight down.

Opportunity to Slim Down

Summer is over. This is your opportunity to lose weight. This is your opportunity to get the body you want. However, if you want to do it by next summer, you will need to start today. Fall is a great time to do it. The nature is changing, and you can change too. Just shrink not grow. Fall is the perfect opportunity to do it. It is the opportunity to get more exercise. It can be the opportunity to start wearing the clothes you want to wear.

Fall is the opportunity to lose weight and to get ready for next summer. Don’t blow it. You have 9 months to do it. This opportunity only comes around once a year. Take advantage of the opportunity to slim down and let’s get started today.

Exercises for Slimming Down

Exercise is essential if you want to slim down and keep it off. It can help to burn calories and increase your metabolism. Below are a few great exercises to help you attain your weight loss goal. There are lots of activities that can give you exercise. The important thing is that you enjoy it so that you will do it long term.

Below are a few exercises that I used for slimming down. I enjoy them and they burn lots of calories:

  • Running
  • Biking
  • Weight Training
  • Walking
  • Elliptical
  • Swimming
  • If none of these appeal to you, find one or two that do. Remember, like I said above, it is important that you enjoy the exercising experience.

    Additionally, you can tailor an exercise just for you. My wife, for example, reads a book while exercising on the elliptical machine. When using the elliptical, I like to watch TV. Both of us have an enjoyable experience while using the elliptical and therefore, continue to do it.

    Exercise + Enjoyment= Slimming Down

    Therefore, exercise, enjoy and do it long term.

    Can You Slim Down For Summer? Why Not?

    Slim Down For Summer

    Summer is almost here. Is your weight where you want it to be? If you are saying to yourself, “that it is impossible.” You are wrong. It is possible, and you can do it, but not with that negative attitude.

    Slimming down is not about what you are not willing to do. It is about doing what you are willing to do. It is about making the changes you are willing to make. However, you need to have strong motivation to slim down. You need to have a weight-loss goal, and you need to have a strong positive attitude. Nothing less will allow you to slim down. Slimming down is as hard or as easy as you make it. If you think it is hard. You will make it hard. If you think it is easy you will make it easy. Your attitude and your thinking towards your weight, towards food, and towards the weight-loss process will determine whether slimming down is easy or hard. Have the right attitude and have the right success. Have the wrong attitude and failure is in your future. It is your choice.

    Can you lose the weight you desire by summer? Sure! You just need to want it bad enough and you need to get started now.

    Do You Have to or Want to Slim Down?

    Slim Down | Trim Down | Become Slimmer | Become Trimmer

    Do you “have to” or “want to” be simmer? There is a difference. The difference is whether you succeed at trimming down or fail.

    If you “have to” become trimmer, it is because you are forced to. People don’t do things long that they are forced to. If you “have to” trim down, every choice will torture you. If you “have to” trim down you won’t last on any exercise program. If you “have to” trim down you will have a bad attitude. If you “have to” become trimmer, there is a good chance you will fail.

    If you really “want to” slim down you will like to exercise and will do it long term. If you really “want to” slim down you will make the right choices and be okay with them. If you really “want to” slim down you will have a positive attitude. If you really “want to” become slimmer you will succeed.
    If you “have to” trim down you can succeed long-term only if you “have to” and “want to” lose weight. The “have to” can give you the motivation, and the “want to” can give you the positive attitude you need to succeed.

    Have fun and make weight loss happen. I hope I did not confuse you too much.

    Learn How to Portion Control to Slim Down – Weight loss Advice

    To lose weight and keep it off, you need to learn how to control your portions. If portion control is a weight loss challenge for you, below are a few things that you can do to resolve this:

  • Eat slower
  • After you eat, it takes time to feel full. This is why eating fast is a bad idea. Therefore, eat slower. I try to set my fork down in-between bites. I also try to chew my food longer, to slow myself down.

  • Drink water before you eat.
  • Drink water before your meal and while you eat. This will not only help fill you. It will help you eat less.

  • Use smaller plates
  • If you always have to clean your plate, this weight loss tip is for you. A smaller plate holds less food. If you clean a smaller plate, you will naturally eat less food, as long as you don’t keep going up for more.

    If you can follow these few weight loss ideas to control your portions, you can lose the weight you desire and keep it off.

    3. Select Your Liquid Calories Wisely to Slim Down
    Sweetened drinks can really add on the calories, and they don’t help cut hunger like solid foods do. It is easy and wise to satisfy your thirst with water, sparkling water with citrus in it, skim or low-fat milk. Grab a glass of nutritious and low-calorie vegetable juice to help fill you up between meals. However, be mindful of the calories in alcoholic drinks, which add up quickly. If you drink daily and want to lose weight, it may be a good idea to start limiting your alcohol intake to the weekends. This can be a huge calorie saver and really help you to slim down.

    Eat Lighter Alternatives To Slim Down – Weight Loss Tip

    Whenever possible it is a good idea to substitute low-fat versions of things like salad dressings, mayonnaise, and dairy products, if you want to control your weight. You can reduce calories and your weight easily if you are willing to substitute low-fat and lighter products. Other substitutions you can make are:

  • Substitute salsa or hummus as a dip
  • Use mustard instead of mayo on sandwiches
  • Have plain roasted sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes
  • Substitute cream with skim milk in your coffee
  • Eliminate cheese on sandwiches
  • Use vinaigrette on your salad instead of creamy salad dressing
  • Eliminate sugar on your cereal
  • If you can make a few substitutions with your foods, you will be able to lose weight and keep it off.

    Self Talk To Slim Down

    Words have power. They can have power over our minds and bodies. By telling yourself positive things everyday you can set and follow through with your weight loss goals and vision. A great self talk exercise is to stand in front of the mirror in the morning and reconfirm your reasons for losing weight. Furthermore, say words that will motivate, inspire, and get you going. Talk to yourself throughout the day. Reaffirm your weight loss goals to yourself. This will help you reach your goals. By using self talk, you will be able to stay on track, lose weight, and keep it off.

    Eat a Handful Of Almonds In Place Of Sugary Snacks to Slim Down

    A 2003 study from the City of Hope National Medical Center found that overweight people who ate a moderate-fat diet containing almonds lost more weight than a control group that didn’t eat nuts. Therefore, if you choose a hand full of almonds as your snack instead of those sugary and starchy snacks, you will be on the right road to losing weight.
