Weight Loss Excuses

Technically I Agree…

However, I’m selfish, and short-term about my weight, because I have excuses. I have lots of excuses. I have every excuse under the sun not to do what I know I need to do, and that is to lose weight.
Losing weight is for other people, not me, because I have reasons, lots of them, and I am special.

Now, it may sound ridiculous, however, that’s how many people think about losing weight, whether they are as blunt as I just was.

If this is you, it just means that you aren’t ready yet to lose weight. It is not important to you yet. Watching TV is more important than exercising. Eating seconds is more important than your health. Just remember that when you are ready, you will be able to do it. Just don’t take too long, because time is ticking.

Weight Loss Excuses

I was sitting in an office today when I overheard a woman say, “I love food. I only live once I am not giving up good food for anything. If I die, I am going to die fat and happy.” I have heard this many times before. My father even said this. However, there is a big flaw with this thinking. Most overweight people don’t die happy. They die in pain. As you get older there is a good chance you will be a diabetic if you are overweight. Taking shots everyday would not make me happy. As overweight people get older they usually have high blood pressure. Taking pills for that would not make me happy. Having mobility issues, would not make me happy. Paying medication prescription bills and doctor co-pays would not make me happy.

Overweight people tend to be become disabled sooner as they get older. That would not make me happy. It seems that some people are just looking at one side of it. If they just spent the same amount of time visioning their future, they just may change their priorities. Eating can be enjoyable. However, you don’t need to abuse food to enjoy food and life. See the future you are heading for, get rid of that lame excuse, and change your future for the better.

Weight Loss Reasons Verses Weight Loss Excuses

The other day I was talking to a lady about losing weight. She said she was trying to lose weight but couldn’t because… This is typical.
When I talk to people about weight loss, many times I am given excuses for why they can’t lose weight. If you are like this person, there is hope.

What you need to do is to replace the “I can’t” with “I can.” This is because if you feel that you can’t, you won’t. You need to turn those excuses for not losing weight into reasons for losing weight. For example, “I can’t lose weight because I have bad knees and can’t jog.” It should be changed to, “I will find an exercise that won’t kill my knees so that I can lose weight. This will take the weight off my knees, relieving some of the pain.”

First, the key here is to realize that you are using excuses that are holding you back from losing weight. Then you need to transform those excuses into reasons for losing weight, like I mentioned above. If you can do this, you will be able to lose weight and keep it off for a lifetime.

What Are Your Excuses For Not Losing Weight?

Weight Loss Excuses

Everyday people tell me reasons for not losing weight. What I am hearing are not reasons but excuses. People feel that if they have a good enough reason (excuse) it makes it okay for not losing weight. They feel that it justifies doing nothing because they came up with a good excuse.

What they’re denying is the fact that their health does not care about their excuses. High blood pressure does not care if they don’t have time to exercise. Diabetes does not care if they don’t like to cook. A heart attack does not care if being overweight is hereditary. Weight-loss excuses will rob them of a healthy future if they let it. Weight-loss excuses are the enemy of weight loss. If you want to lose weight you need to get rid of your excuses for not losing weight and find reasons to lose weight. Take all your excuses one by one and turn them into reasons for losing the weight, and you will be on your way to weight-loss success.

Is Your But is Keeping You From Losing Weight?

Everyday I hear the words, “I would like to lose weight BUT…” In other words, are your excuses keeping you from losing weight?

Over the years, I have heard more excuses of why people can’t lower their weight than I have heard reasons to lose weight. Every overweight person seems to have an arsenal of excuses to tell people. What does that tell me? It tells me that they really don’t want to lose weight. However, they don’t want to tell anyone that. I believe that they feel that losing weight will be extremely painful and like most people, they don’t want to do what is painful.

What they don’t realize is that they are making losing weight painful with their attitude. Losing weight is as painful or painless as you make it. It is all about your attitude towards it. If you feel that losing weight is tough, and that you have to make major sacrifices to do it, you will not succeed in the long term. If you look forward to the results that losing weight will give you, you will succeed. Your attitude WILL determine your results. Let me put it in simple terms, “bad attitude, bad results. Good attitude, good results.” Change your attitude and your results will change. That should say it all.

What’s Your Excuse For Not Losing Weight?

Everyday I hear excuses for not losing weight. These excuses are disguised as reasons. Here are a few that I have been told:

  • I am too busy to lose weight.
  • It runs in my family.
  • I love to eat.
  • I don’t like to exercise.
  • My wife is a great cook.
  • Running is the best exercise to lose weight, and since I can’t run I can lose weight.
  • Like I wrote above, these people think these are reasons for not losing weight, when in reality, they are just excuses. Anyone can lose weight if they choose to. They just need to choose to lose it, and they must want it badly. When someone gives me an excuse, they are just telling me that they actually don’t want to lose weight. They don’t want to lose weight, and they don’t want to admit to me or themselves that they don’t want to take the weight off. What they don’t realize is that they are not hurting me. They are just hurting themselves and their families if they don’t shed the weight.

    So I have two questions for you. What’s your excuse? When are you going to give up that excuse and start losing weight?

    What I did to Shed Weight and How I Did It

    People always ask me how I lost 50 pounds in four months and have kept it off for over six years. I tell them that, “You must first get your head in the game before you can lose the weight you desire, and keep it off.”

    What does this mean?

  • It means that you have to be mentally ready to lose the weight.
  • It means that you must be ready to acknowledge that you have a weight problem.
  • It means that you have to have strong motivation to get the weight off.
  • It means that you have to get rid of all your weight-loss excuses.
  • It means that you have to be ready to change some of the things you are doing.
  • It means that you must think positively towards the weight-loss process.
  • If you can do these things and others, you can lose the weight you desire.

    If you can’t, you will remain where you are.

    Make One Decision To Lose Weight

    Years ago when I made the decision to lose weight. That decision I made once and once only. I did not ever say to myself that I will “TRY” to lose weight and see what happens. I said to myself, I will lose weight. There lies the difference between weight-loss success and weight-loss failure. Someone who is successful at losing weight says that they are going to lose weight. Someone who fails at losing weight only tries. They expect to fail. Trying by its very nature shows a lack of commitment. Lack of commitment is a recipe for failure. People who are successful at losing weight make a commitment to themselves, not to try, but to succeed. They also only make the decision once. They don’t keep making the decision year after year. People who succeed at losing weight never say, “I tried to lose weight but…” If you want to lose weight, know that the word “but” will cause you to fail. Not the butt you sit on. The “but” that is followed by excuses. These excuses will keep you where you are at.

    If you can change those excuses why you can’t lose weight, into reasons why you should, you will be able to drop weight. However, you must make the decision to lose weight once and commit to that decision, and watch the pounds melt off.

    Weight Loss for the Working Moms : Get Rid of Your Weight Loss Excuses

    I always hear from working moms that they don’t have time to lose weight and they don’t have time to exercise. Although I can appreciate all the hard work they do, I also have to say that it is an excuse for not losing weight. Losing weight is simple but it is not easy. Take in fewer calories than you burn, and you will lose weight. Even if you have absolutely no time to exercise, you still can cut back on your food intake and lose weight. Furthermore, if you make exercising a priority in your life you will find time for it. You will get up an hour earlier to exercise, you will go for a walk at lunch. Like the old saying goes, where there is a will there is a way. All you need is the will, and you will find a way. Eliminate that excuse and make the decision to lose weight, your family needs you as healthy as you can be.
