Weight Loss Action Required

One of the keys to losing weight is positive action. The first positive action in the weight loss process is to start. This may sound simple but for many people, it is the hardest. However, it is required if we want to lose weight. It also means taking positive actions daily towards our weight loss goal. This is because negative actions, including inaction will result in negative results (weight gain or staying overweight).

What does positive mean? Positive action can mean:

  • Exercising daily
  • Watching your portion sizes
  • Eating healthier snacks
  • Becoming more active
  • If we can take daily positive actions towards our weight loss goal, we will get positive weight loss results. If we take negative weight loss action, we will have negative weight loss results. It is a choice, and it is our choice. Make the wise choice. We can do it. Let’s get it done.

    Set a Weight Loss Goal

    If we want to lose weight, we need to set a weight loss goal. Why do we need to set a goal you may be asking? We need to set a goal, so we know when we have succeeded. We need to set a goal because it will help motivate us and keep us on track. Weight-loss goals are good, if we truly want to lose weight. The key is to have a big goal. We need to picture our optimum weight. The weight we would love to be, and then picture a weight we feel we can reach. We then need to go after the attainable goal with the knowledge that when we reach the attainable goal, we will go after the one that seams out of reach at the moment.

    The next step is to pick a date for reaching our goal. This will help keep us on our toes. After we pick our goal weight and goal date, we need to break it down into smaller goals and shorter dates. What weight do we need to be a week henceforth, and the week after that, and so on if we want to hit our goal. This will give us guidance and encouragement all the way.

    Reaching small cumulative goals along the way is the best way to keep motivated and stay on track.

    Weight loss can be easy if you make it that way and setting a goal is a great place to start.

    A Wish Will Get You Started but a Goal Will Keep You Going | Weight Loss

    Weight Loss Goal | Wish to Lose Weight

    If you started to lose weight and have not set a weight Loss goal, think again. People tell me all the time that they want to lose weight. When I ask them how much, they want to lose, I get the deer in the headlights stare. Then they tell me that they don’t know. It is hard to lose weight when you don’t have any idea where you want to end up. Setting a weight loss goal will help you get to where you want to be. It will help you with your daily choices, because you have a goal. No weight loss goal means that you can give into temptation easier.

    Let’s say you get into a car and want to go on vacation. If you don’t know where you want to end up, how do you know when you are there? You don’t. Where do you turn? You don’t know. Losing weight is the same way. If you don’t set a weight loss goal, then you don’t know where you are going and have no plan to get there. It is not the way to lose weight.

    When I lost my weight, I initially had a goal of 30 pounds. I hit that goal and realized that I could go further. I then I set another goal and lost an additional 20 pounds. That is the power of a weight loss goal.

    Every choice I make, I asked myself. Is what I about to do taking me closer or further away from my goal? That answer drove all of my decisions and allowed me to reach my ideal weight. It can drive your decisions. It can also drive your weight down.

    Tools To Help You Lose Weight

    In order to lose the weight that you desire, you need to have a few things in place. You need to have a few tools that will help make it happen.

    My book, “Don’t Diet! Just Think And Get Thin” will help you to develop the motivation you need to lose weight and keep it off. A digital scale will help you to track your daily choices. Everyday you should track your weight. You should then track where you are with respect to your short term and long term weight-loss goals. Keep track of it on a calendar that you keep next to the scale.

    Create a realistic weight loss goal that you would like to reach and break that goal up into smaller attainable goals.

    Create a weight loss plan to reach the above goal, and stick to the plan if it is working, adjust the plan if it is not working.

    Get the right equipment for the exercise you select. Try different exercises to find ones that you enjoy doing.

    Losing weight starts in your head. If you can get your head in the right place to lose the weight, the rest will fall into place.

    How To Succeed At Losing Weight

    If you want to succeed at losing weight, there are few things that you can do to make it happen.

    1) Focus on your weight-loss goal and do things daily to move towards that goal.

    2) Do things that move you towards your weight-loss goal, even if they make you feel uncomfortable. If you do them regularly they will become comfortable.

    3) Be persistent and consistent working towards your weight-loss goals

    4) As Winston Churchill said, “Never never never never give up.”

    5) Take responsibility for your weight, fitness, and health. You have to live in the body you create. You are responsible for it.

    6) Replace all the excuses you have not to lose weight with reasons why you should lose weight.

    Although there is more to losing weight than listed above, it is a great place to start.

    Have Hope to Lose Weight and Get Fit

    If you are overweight or obese, there is hope. You can start now. By losing some weight and getting some exercise, you can reduce the risks of health issues. You can help your heart, lower your blood pressure, regulate your sugar levels, sleep better, and reduce your cholesterol.

    This can reduce or eliminate having to take pills, reduce doctor visits and hospital stays. By losing some weight you can reduce the risk of cancer. Additionally, by getting in shape you can reduce the risk of heart disease.

    Are you willing make small changes to lose weight and get healthier? If the answer is yes, then let’s get started. There things to do. It is time to set a weight-loss goal, create a weight-loss plan, and start taking action.

    When you start seeing that you have more energy, that your physique has improved, you will enjoy the results, and it will be worth the time and energy you put into it. Action turns into weight-loss results. Results will increase motivation.

    Therefore, if you are overweight or obese, turn your hope into action, and you will lose the weight you desire.

    Create A Weight-Loss Plan

    When I first decided to lose weight, I did what I had always done. I thought that since I wanted to lose weight, it was enough to make it happen. To my surprise, I was wrong. What I needed to do was to set a weight-loss goal then create a weight-loss plan to reach that goal. That plan is the following (not necessarily to be done in this order):

  • Create an exercise routine
  • Create a plan on how you are going to make the time for the above exercise routine
  • Create a list of foods to choose from for breakfast
  • Create a list of foods that you will choose from for lunch
  • How you are going to control your portions for dinner (the meal people most people have an issue with)
  • What activities are you going to do after dinner
  • How are you going to determined success
  • Make sure that you are happy with whatever you put in the above plan. If you are not happy with the plan, you create, you will fail.

    Make a Commitment To Lose Weight

    When I first decided to lose weight, I walked into the bathroom, looked at myself square in the eyes and said to myself, “I am going to lose weight.” Right then I made a commitment to lose weight. It wasn’t that I was going to try to lose weight, and if it didn’t work out, oh well. Right there and then I made a commitment to myself. A commitment I was going to keep. I didn’t make a commitment, for the moment. I didn’t make a commitment that I knew I would be unwilling to keep. It was intense, and I was determined to keep the promise that I made to myself.

    That’s what it takes to lose weight. It takes total commitment. I did not partially commit. I totally committed. I wasn’t 50% committed. I was 100% committed. I wasn’t 90% committed. I was 100% committed to lose weight. Anything less is failure waiting to happen. Anything less than 100% will allow you to be tempted.

    Therefore, if you want to lose weight and keep it off for a lifetime, be totally 100% committed to your weight-loss goal.

    Don’t Avoid Temptations to Lose Weight

    When it comes to the foods you love, the old saying, “out of sight, out of mind” will do nothing but torture you. The key here is to have the tempting foods around you and learn how to eat them in moderation. Abstinence with the foods you love will just drive you crazy. Have it in your pantry along with healthy snacks. Remind yourself of your weight loss goal by posting them on the door of your snack cabinet. Start by swapping your favorite snacks with healthy ones every other day. The day you can eat your favorite snack, make the decision to eat a smaller portion of it.

    The point is this. If your goal is to lose weight and keep it off, then you need to be happy with the choices you make daily. If you aren’t happy with the choices, you are doomed to fail.

    Therefore, the idea is to have a mix of healthier snack, along with your favorite snacks (in smaller portions) so that at the end of the day you are happy with the choices you made that day. That will result in long-term weight-loss success.

    Have a Strong Desire To Lose Weight

    To lose weight and keep it off, you have to have a strong desire to do it. You have to be willing to make a strong commitment to weight loss. One of the best things to do is to set a weight-loss goal that you can commit to.

    Your goal should be the weight that you want to reach. You also need to set a timeframe for reaching that goal. In other words, your goal should be reachable and quantifiable. An example of a weight-loss goal can be. You want to lose 30 pounds by __/___/___date.

    The best way to handle this goal is to break it up into smaller manageable goals or checkpoints along the way. This will ensure that you are on the right track.

    Track your goals by using a weight-loss chart and watch the weight come off.
