Be Disappointed and Lose Weight

Anyone who has lost weight, including myself will tell you that they have had ups and downs during the weight loss process. They will tell you that they had disappointments. However, they will also tell you that they worked through them. Weight loss winners will work at it until they succeed. Weight loss winners never quit. Weight loss winners are persistent.

It is not the disappointment that will keep us from losing weight. It is how we handle the disappointment that will determine our success or failure. Will we quit or will we use the disappointment as extra motivation? Will it upset us or piss us off to the point of working harder at it? Will we feel sorry for ourselves, or will we be more determined?

I am not saying that you should never let it get you down. Just keep it short-term and never be down and out.

Weight Loss Action Required

One of the keys to losing weight is positive action. The first positive action in the weight loss process is to start. This may sound simple but for many people, it is the hardest. However, it is required if we want to lose weight. It also means taking positive actions daily towards our weight loss goal. This is because negative actions, including inaction will result in negative results (weight gain or staying overweight).

What does positive mean? Positive action can mean:

  • Exercising daily
  • Watching your portion sizes
  • Eating healthier snacks
  • Becoming more active
  • If we can take daily positive actions towards our weight loss goal, we will get positive weight loss results. If we take negative weight loss action, we will have negative weight loss results. It is a choice, and it is our choice. Make the wise choice. We can do it. Let’s get it done.

    Weight Loss Tips – Useful Tips to Shed Weight

    When I was in the weight-loss process, I had to learn how to make things easier on myself. I had to learn how to cut calories painlessly. I had to learn how not to eat all the time. Here are a few of the many things that I learned.

    I Make My Own Salad Dressing
    One of the things I do is make my own salad dressing. This allows me to spice it up and still keep the calories down.

    Brush My Teeth
    I find that the times I bushed my teeth early, I snack less. This is because I don’t want to have to brush again before I go to bed.

    Switch My Seat
    Sit in a different spot at dinner. Sit in a spot that you are not staring at the food. This can help you resist the temptation of going up for seconds.

    Call a Friend
    When you are in an emotional state, call a friend. It can take your mind off of eating.

    Weigh Myself Daily
    I always weigh myself daily. It is a good way to help you stay mindful of your daily choices and portions.

    Exercise During TV Time
    I don’t go for a snack during commercials. I do some sit ups, pushups, or dips. I also use an exercise band. The object is to do something other than eat.

    Take a More Steps Daily
    After dinner I make it a point to spend more time going up and down the stairs. It can really burn the calories.

    Weight loss is an education. Therefore, learn and shed weight.

    Commitment to lose weight | Decision to Lose Weight

    Have you tried to lose weight in the past? Has your commitment to lose weight in the past been a little light? If you want to lose weight and keep it off you have to make the decision to lose weight. However, more importantly you have to make the decision once, and once only to lose weight.

    Making the decision once means. Having a total commitment to dropping weight means you will do it. There is no try. It means obstacles may slow you down, but they will not stop you. It means failure is not an option. It means having a strong motivation that will carry you through the ups and downs of the weight-loss process. It means having your head in the weight-loss game.

    Ready to Lose Weight

    A lot of people tell me that they are ready to lose weight. They tell me that they are going to do it. They tell me that nothing can stop them. However, they don’t lose weight, and they don’t even start. They are all talk and no action. They are all words and no work. When I question them later, all they have are excuses. Are you one of these people? When I was in the weight-loss process, I told very few people. Losing weight was personal for me. I wanted to show people by my results not my words. I thought it was more important that I was more action than talk. Therefore, I just made the decision and did it. It was challenging at times. I had my ups and downs. However, I did not quit.

    I set out to drop 30 pounds and stopped when I lost 50. When I truly understood what need to be done it got easier. When I got into the weight-loss groove the weight came off fast. When I learned what I needed to do and what not to do, the weight melted off. It was personal. It got emotional, and it got done. ARE YOU READY TO LOSE WEIGHT? Don’t tell me. SHOW ME!

    Overcome Your Weight Loss Obstacles

    I have found that whenever I go after any goal, there are always forces at work trying to derail me. This was especially true when I was in the weight loss process. I would schedule time to exercise, just to see my work schedule increase. I would think that I could come home for lunch, just to get so busy that I barely made it home for dinner.

    However, I was determined, and I was persistent. This allowed me to be successful at losing weight. I refused to quit, and I refused to lose the weight loss battle.

    I kept at it and found solutions to beat the forces that worked against me at losing weight. If my schedule during the day could not be planned, I packed (and still do) a lunch that I could keep in the car. I also kept (and keep still today) protein bars in the car, just in case I forget my lunch.

    Planning along with backup plans is part of the weight loss process. Identifying where you will have issues, where you will go off track and then planning for them is an important weight loss strategy.

    If you get home late and eat late find a solution that will work for you. The key is to find solutions for the issues that keep taking you off track. When you can do this, you will be on the right road to losing the weight you desire.

    Weight Loss Mistakes | Drop Weight | Weight Loss Process

    When I was in the weight loss process, I made plenty of mistakes. I overate at times. I ate the wrong foods in the wrong quantities. One day my weight was down the next day it was way up. However, I did not quit.

    Setbacks are part of the weight loss process. We are human. We screw up. However, how you deal with the weight loss mistakes you make will define your results.

    Do you dwell upon the mistakes or do you learn from them? Do you let your setbacks consume you, or do you figure out a way to get back on track? Do you lose doubt that you can do it, or does it piss you off into working harder at it?

    It is not the mistake that means anything, it is your reaction to the mistakes that is important. Remember that mistakes and setbacks are part of the weight loss process. Have the right attitude when they happen, and you will have the results you want. Have a bad attitude when they happen and you will fail. It is your choice.

    Keep Food in The Car to Drop the Weight – Drop Weight

    During the weight loss process, you can be tempted with pulling into a fast-food restaurant or party store. When you are hungry, this can have devastating consequences for your weight loss endeavor. I have found for myself that keeping food in the car helps to combat the temptation, especially when I forget to pack a lunch. What kinds of food do I keep in car you may be asking?

  • Nuts
  • Protein bars
  • Fiber bars
  • Meal replacement bars
  • Trail mix
  • Water
  • If I forget to pack a lunch, I just reach into my glove box and there are healthy alternatives that can keep me full until dinner. Weight loss is about planning ahead so that you don’t get caught with your guard down.

    If you can do this, you will be able to drop weight and keep it off.

    Oh No My Scale Just Broke – My Scale Does Not Like Me Anymore

    This morning I stepped on the scale like I do every morning. However, something was different. It started to calculate my weight and then went blank. I changed the battery and got the same results. I told my wife, and she said that it worked for her an hour earlier. She stepped on the scale, and it worked. I then step on the scale, and it didn’t work. My kids stepped on the scale, and it worked for them. I stepped on the scale, and it went blank. It was like a comedy show, except, I was getting very irritated.

    I thought about it for a while and realized that I have stepped on that scale everyday for over six years. It was a habit for me to get up and step on the scale. This habit of weighing myself daily I formed when I was in the weight-loss process over six years ago. I was irritated because I had to break my habit today. I don’t know how much I weighed today; therefore, I don’t know how to handle my food intake today. This bothered me.

    I then realized the power of a habit. This good habit irritated me when I could not do it. I felt guilty that I could not weigh myself this morning. At one point my scale did give me a weight of 99 lbs. My weight is usually between 152lbs -157lbs. That was funny.

    Here is the point. A habit is hard to break, whether it is a good habit or a bad one. Therefore, breaking a bad habit can be frustrating; it can make you feel guilty. However, you will get over it, especially if you can replace that bad habit with a good one.

    Additionally, I would rather be irritated about breaking a good habit for a day than a bad habit. I would also rather go through the irritation of breaking a bad habit.

    Therefore, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, form good habits and make them a part of your life, so that it bothers you when you can’t do them.

    By the way, my wife is out right now buying me a new scale. I guess she does not like to see me irritated (lol).
