Weight loss program

Developing a weight loss program

Losing weight is about having a game plan. It is about setting up a personalized program for yourself to succeed.

This program needs to have a few elements:

  • The first element is a motivation that is strong and emotional so that you want to make the required changes.
  • The second element is that you need to have a goal. A goal is something to focus on. It is something to work towards.
  • The third element is action. You must get started. Without action, nothing will happen.
  • The fourth element is a new eating program which needs to include healthier alternatives and reduced portion sizes.
  • The fifth element is an exercise program that you enjoy doing regularly so that you do regularly.

    Weight Loss Program

Weight loss is a personal thing. No one can lose weight for you. Therefore, a plan to lose weight must also be personalized. Everyone is different. Everyone has their personal likes and dislikes. Running is one of my favorite exercises. However, you may like to swim, for instance. I like certain foods. You may like others. Therefore, what works for me may not work for you. Therefore, how you lose weight needs to be personalized.

Find exercises that you enjoy. Increase your activity by doing things that you enjoy. Eat lower calorie, healthier foods that you enjoy. It is important to balance eating healthier foods, with your favorite foods in lower portions, for long-term success.

There are some givens when it comes to losing weight. Eat fewer calories than you burn. Get a strong, emotional reason for doing it, and get started. Lastly, always do what’s right for you for long-term success

What Is The Best Weight Loss Plan? Best Weight Loss Program

    Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

Best Weight Loss Plan | Best Weight Loss Program

There are many ways, and many weight-loss plans to choose from. There is one common denominator. If you want to lose weight you need to take in fewer calories, then you burn. That is the bottom line. However, why you do it and do you like it, are even more important than the plan itself.

If you don’t like doing what is in the plan, then you won’t do it long term. If you are not enjoying the process, you won’t do it long-term, and you will not have long-term weight-loss success.
If the plan you choose does not address your motivation, odds are that you will fail.

My book “Don’t Diet! Just Think And Get Thin” has had success not because I tell people what to eat and what not to eat, but how to think about weight loss. I show people how to develop their motivation for long-term success at losing weight. I go over what I did to lose the weight. However, I don’t tell people that they have to do it. What worked for me may not work for you. I do, however, show people where their motivation needs to be and how to get it there. Additionally, I guide people through a proven process to get them there.

What is the best weight-loss plan? The best weight-loss plan is one that is personal for you. However, first you must get your weight loss motivation in line with your weight-loss goals.

Additionally, you will know you are on the right track when at the end of the day you are happy with the choices that you made. Only then will you be set up for long-term weight-loss success.

Exercise Should Be Part Of Your Weight Loss Program

    Monday, November 7th, 2011

Weight loss can be enhanced by exercising regularly. If you want to lose weight, it would be a good idea to start a regular exercise program. Exercise is important because it builds and strengthens your muscles which in turn help you to burn more calories.

It is important to realize that the more calories you burn throughout the day mean fewer calories get stored as fat. That’s why exercise helps you to lose weight. A cardio and or weight training are great ways to help you lose weight.

Changing your exercise routines occasionally may help you to keep your focus on your goal. It is also a good idea to rotate your workout regularly, so that you build different muscles and so that your body does not get used to your workout.

    Should You Lose Weight?

    Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Before you start a weight loss and fitness program, you should determine whether or not you need to lose weight, and if so, how much? Having a healthy weight can reduce the risks of heart problems, diabetes and other diseases.
Below are some things you need to look at when deciding whether or not to start a weight-loss program:

  • Does your family have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes? If so, it’s important that you stay at a healthy weight.
  • Do you currently have health issues? If so, you might want to think about losing weight.
  • Where is your fat sitting? Is your fat sitting in the stomach area? If so, you have a higher risk of future health issues than if the fat is in other areas of the body.
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) is an equation that uses your height and weight to decide if your weight is in a healthy weight range. If your BMI results are in the overweight or obese range, you may want to talk to your doctor to determine a good healthy weight range to target.
  • This may sound funny, but if you jiggle when you walk it may be time to consider losing some weight.

Lose One Pound A Week – Weight Loss

    Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

You should lose one pound a week at a minimum. If you’re not losing at least one pound a week on your current weight loss program, you may need to push yourself harder. If you lose more than one pound a week, then you’re doing better than average. Expecting to lose five pounds a week for some people may not be realistic. My philosophy is this, as long as you are consistently moving in the right direction with your weight, you are doing well.

Do You Have The Fat Person’s Mentality? (Part 1)

    Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Do You Have The Fat Person’s Mentality?
I was having a meeting with a man the other day who told me that he had the “Fat Person’s Mentality.” It was funny, sad, and true. The silver lining was that he realized it. This is the first step in “My 8 Step Weight Loss Program.” That is seeing your “True Reality.”

What is the “Fat Person’s Mentality?” It is how a fat person thinks. When I was 50 pounds heavier I thought about some things differently than I do now. Consequently, that wrong thinking got me fat and kept me there for years.

    Thinking like:

  • I deserve and will eat what I want when I want.
  • I deserve and will sit on the sofa all night and vegetate.
  • Eating makes me feel better when I am stressed, nervous, excited, or depressed.
  • Exercise is too much work. I don’t want to do it.
  • I don’t like to exercise.
  • I am too tired to exercise.
  • I am too busy to exercise.
  • My kids take up all my time.
  • I don’t want to give up my favorite foods.
  • If you ever think thoughts like these, you have the “Fat Person’s Mentality.”

Tomorrow I will talk about how to get rid of the “Fat Person’s Mentality.”
