Move Forward to lose weight – Weight Loss Progress

During the weight loss process, we consistently need to move forward. This means monitoring our weight closely to make sure that we have consistent results. What we do when we are 200 pounds to lose weight is slightly different than what we do when we are at 175 pounds. We consistently need to make slight changes and move forward. If we are stuck at a weight, we may need to increase slightly the duration and intensity of our exercise. We may need to reduce slightly our food intake. We may need to replace a higher calorie snack with a lower one.

Reaching our weight-loss goals consistently requires that we do the things that will allow us to move forward. Let’s get started today.

Track Your Weight Loss Journey

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

Along the weight loss journey, it is important to track your weight loss progress.

There are a couple of reasons why.

  • It will show you that what you are doing is getting you closer to your weight loss goals.
  • You can see your weight loss progress, and it will get you fired up and more motivated to lose weight.
  • Here are a few things that you may want to track.

  • Track your weight.
  • Weigh yourself daily. Do it the first thing in the morning and on an empty stomach. Track it on a calendar. Keep the calendar next to the scale.

  • Take measurements.
  • Get measuring tape and start measuring. Measure your waist, arms, thighs, and chest. Do it first thing in the morning before you eat. Take measurements every other week.

  • Take pictures.
  • You see yourself everyday, and therefore, it is hard to see your progress. This is something that I wish I had done when I was in the weight loss process. I wish I photographed my progress.

    If you want to lose weight and keep it off, it may be a good idea to track your weight loss progress.

    Track Your Weight Loss Progress – Weight Loss Tip

    Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

    Tracking your weight loss progress is a good way to keep yourself on task while losing weight. It makes you mindful of what you are and when you eat it. There are several ways to track your progress and activities:

  • Take photos before, during and after your weight loss. It can keep you motivated and can keep you from reverting back.
  • A food journal is the good way to understand what you are really eating. It will help you to understand your patterns and cheating. What should you write in your food journal?
    1. * The time you ate.
      * What you ate.
      * What was happening when you ate.
      * Who you were with.
      * How you felt afterward.

    Additionally, write your weight down daily so you can see the results of your eating journal.

    Tracking your food intake and weight can be make the difference.

    Measuring Tape and the Scale – Weight Loss Tip

    Thursday, August 11th, 2011

    The scale is a great tool for losing weight. It will help you measure your weight loss progress during the weight loss process. It is also a great tool for keeping you thin once you have lost the weight. However, there is another tool that in addition to the scale can help you during the weight loss process, and that is the measuring tape. If you weight train hard as part of your weight loss exercise program, you may be losing fat and gaining muscle. The scale will show the weight loss but won’t show the muscle gain or weight redistribution (from fat to muscle). This is where the measuring can help. It can show you, for instance, that your waist got smaller but your arms got bigger. Therefore, if you are weight training heavily it may not be a bad idea to get out the measuring tape and start tracking your weight redistribution.

    Weight Loss Photos – Take Before And After Photos

    Thursday, November 11th, 2010

    One of the mistakes I made in the weight loss process was not taking before photos (fat George photos). This is something I regret. It would be nice to have a reminder, of how I was so that I never go back.

    I know it sucks to see yourself fat. However, there’s no better way to show your weight loss progress. There is no better way to keep you from going back then to pin up your, before and after photos in a place that you will see them daily. There is no better way to remember that you won the weight loss battle but the war still goes on.

    Therefore, get the camera out, take some photos, and let’s start losing weight today.
