Success is a Choice

Losing weight is a choice.

  • You either choose to lose weight, or you choose not to lose weight.
  • You either choose to exercise, or you choose not to exercise.
  • You choose to eat a little healthier, or you choose not to eat healthier.
  • You choose to eat a little less, or you choose not to eat less.
  • You can make thinner choices daily or choose not to.
  • Each choice has ramifications. Good choices have good ramifications. Bad choices (doing nothing, is a choice) have bad ramifications.

    Therefore, every time you complain about your weight, remember, your weight is your choice.

    I have had many successes in my life. However, one of the most satisfying and gratifying is my weight-loss success. It has been satisfying because not only did I lose the weight; I was able to keep it off. I have weight-loss success because I decided to have it. It is a gratifying success because it is something I can see every day and is something I live with everyday.

    You can have weight-loss success if you decide to do it also, and then follow it up with the actions to make it happen. Weight-loss success comes on the other side of work.

    Therefore, make the decision, do the work, and enjoy weight-loss success.

    Weight Loss Success : Weight Loss Choice

    People tell me all the time that they can’t lose weight. However, what they don’t realize is that weight-loss success is a choice. Weight loss is their choice. The key is that they have to choose to do it and stop complaining that they can’t. It is not that they can’t lose weight. It is that they choose not to do what it takes to make it happen.

    The concept of losing weight is simple (you take in less calories than you burn). However, it may not always be easy. It’s all how you perceive it. The choice you make to lose weight does not stop there. Losing weight is full of choices and with those choices come trade-offs. Do you sit on the sofa after dinner or go for a walk? Do you go up for seconds at dinnertime? Do you eat a scoop of ice cream or a bowl?

    Choices are made everyday. Each choice will either move you towards your goals or away for your goals. Make the right choices and you lose weight. Make the wrong choices and you gain it.

    Therefore, it is important to choose wisely, choose often, and let’s get it done.

    If we want to lose weight, we need to have a goal. We need to know what weight we want to get to, and we need to know when we want to get there by. We also have to focus upon the results not on the process. This is very important. I talk with many people that spend way too much time focusing on what they have to give up, rather than focusing on where they want to be or their weight-loss results. Concentrating on the negative will give us negative results. Concentrating on the negative will do nothing but torture ourselves causing us to fail. If we concentrate on what it going to be like when we are thinner, we will do what it takes to get there. This will help drive us to weight-loss success.     Do You Want to Be a Weight Loss Winner?

    Anyone can be a weight-loss winner if they choose to. This is true whether we believe it or not. Becoming a weight-loss winner has to do with the level of desire we have to do it. If we don’t have the desire, then we won’t do what it takes to make it happen. If we don’t have the desire, then the sofa will look better than a walk. If we don’t have the desire, we can easily be swayed into eating bad things in large quantities. Do you have the desire to lose weight? If so, how strong is your desire? It is the strength of our desire that will determine our results. A strong desire will translate into big results. A weak desire will translate into no results. Therefore, if we want to lose weight, we need to have a strong desire to it.

    How do we get a strong desire to lose weight? We find or develop a strong motivation to do it. Motivation is personal. Motivation is internal. Only you can develop your motivatation. Only you can crank yourself up to do it. No one can do it for you. I can help you find your motivation. However, I can’t give it to you. Therefore, if you want to lose weight for a lifetime, you need to develop lifetime motivation. You need to develop a motivation that hits you on an emotional level. This will give you the drive you need to succeed.

    Becoming a weight-loss winner is achievable. You just need to develop the right motivation.

    Weight Loss Success | Weight Loss Commitment

    If we want to lose weight and keep it off, we must be committed to it. What does commitment mean? It means making our weight loss our number-one priority. It means treating our weight loss like an emergency. It means putting a sense of urgency on it.

    When we treat weight-loss differently, things start to happen. We start making the right choices not the easy choices. We look at everything we do as a weight-loss choice. Do we take the elevator or stairs? Do we park next to the entrance or away from it so that we can walk? Do we go up for seconds? What snack should we eat, chips or grapes? What should we do after dinner, sit on the sofa, or go for a walk? If we look at things differently, we will give ourselves choices. If we give ourselves smarter choices, we can make smarter decisions and lose weight.

    However, this only happens when we are 100% committed because 50% commitment just isn’t enough. Let’s get totally committed and let’s get the weight off.

    There are many ways, and many weight-loss plans to choose from. There is one common denominator. If you want to lose weight you need to take in fewer calories, then you burn. That is the bottom line. However, why you do it and do you like it, are even more important than the plan itself.

    If you don’t like doing what is in the plan, then you won’t do it long term. If you are not enjoying the process, you won’t do it long-term, and you will not have long-term weight-loss success.
    If the plan you choose does not address your motivation, odds are that you will fail.

    My book “Don’t Diet! Just Think And Get Thin” has had success not because I tell people what to eat and what not to eat, but how to think about weight loss. I show people how to develop their motivation for long-term success at losing weight. I go over what I did to lose the weight. However, I don’t tell people that they have to do it. What worked for me may not work for you. I do, however, show people where their motivation needs to be and how to get it there. Additionally, I guide people through a proven process to get them there.

    What is the best weight-loss plan? The best weight-loss plan is one that is personal for you. However, first you must get your weight loss motivation in line with your weight-loss goals.

    Key To Dropping Weight | Eating Habits

    A habit is something that you do repeatedly. Most habits are done without people realizing that they have a habit. However, identifying and understanding your eating habits is a key to dropping weight. Where you eat and how you eat can determine your weight-loss success.

    Do you eat in your car? What do you eat? Do you stop for fast food?
    Do you eat at your desk or go out for fast food? What do you eat?
    Do you snack in front of the TV? What do you eat?

    Be mindful of where you eat and what you eat. Eating in your car isn’t bad if you are eating vegetables, fruits, nuts, protein bars, in other words, healthy foods. There is nothing wrong with snacking in front of the TV if you are eating grapes, nuts, oranges, pineapple, etc. Eating at your desk is a good thing if you are eating the right stuff in the right quantities. Going out for fast food is NOT evil. You just need to be mindful of what you are ordering.

    If you can change a few habits, you can change your weight and change your life.
