Make Your Own Salad Dressing – Weight Loss Tip

Bottled dressings can be a calorie nightmare. Two tablespoons of blue cheese dressing contain about 140 calories along with 14 grams of fat. An alternative is to mix your own dressing together. Mix two parts lemon juice to one part olive oil. Put your dressing into a spray bottle and spray on your salad for better portion control.

How To Stop OverEating – Weight Loss Tip

It is not bad that people eat. What is bad, is when they overeat. Years ago I was one of those people. Every meal I would stuff myself like a pig. What I did not realize was that when I stuffed myself as much as I did, I was actually hurting my body. What I did not realize was that my body had to process all that food and do something with it. It turned some into energy, dumped some out, and turned the rest to fat. It became a problem and promoted my unhealthy weight gain. Also, most of the fat went to my abdominal area.

How do you stop your over-eating problem? Here are a few things that helped me.

  • Eat a healthy snack about a half-hour before dinner. This will curb your hunger and help you to eat less.
  • Eat slowly at dinner. This will help you to feel fuller without eating a lot of food.
  • Stop when you just start to feel full. Once are stuffed, it is too late.
  • Exercise more. This will remind you that you need to work off what you put in. It will help you to pay more attention to what and how much you eat.
  • If you can do these few things, you can stop overeating and lose the weight you desire.

    Tracking your weight loss progress is a good way to keep yourself on task while losing weight. It makes you mindful of what you are and when you eat it. There are several ways to track your progress and activities:

  • Take photos before, during and after your weight loss. It can keep you motivated and can keep you from reverting back.
  • A food journal is the good way to understand what you are really eating. It will help you to understand your patterns and cheating. What should you write in your food journal?
    1. * The time you ate.
      * What you ate.
      * What was happening when you ate.
      * Who you were with.
      * How you felt afterward.

    Additionally, write your weight down daily so you can see the results of your eating journal.

    Tracking your food intake and weight can be make the difference.

    7. Trim Your Portions to Trim Your Waistline
    If you trim your portions by 15%-25%, you can lose the weight, you desire. The thing to remember is that we eat way more food than we need. If you don’t know how to do this, just get a measuring cup to see how much you are actually eating, then work on reducing your amount of food. One thing I like to do is to use smaller plates. This will help you not to feel like you are starving yourself, because it will look like a lot of food on smaller plates.

    Another way to cut calories is to control your surroundings. This means:

  • Keeping away from all-you-can-eat restaurants.

  • Not eating too much junk food at parties

    A good idea is to substitute whole grains with refined grains like white bread, cakes, cookies, and pretzels.     Consuming more low-calorie, high-volume fruits and vegetables will fill you up so that you won’t eat a lot of other foods that are higher in fat and calories. Try starting lunch or dinner with a vegetable salad. It is a good idea to stock your kitchen with fruits and vegetables and include a couple of servings with every meal and snack. This is a good way to enhance your body with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Additionally, if you fill up on nutritious produce, there is a good chance you won’t grab an unhealthy snack.

    3. Select Your Liquid Calories Wisely to Slim Down
    Sweetened drinks can really add on the calories, and they don’t help cut hunger like solid foods do. It is easy and wise to satisfy your thirst with water, sparkling water with citrus in it, skim or low-fat milk. Grab a glass of nutritious and low-calorie vegetable juice to help fill you up between meals. However, be mindful of the calories in alcoholic drinks, which add up quickly. If you drink daily and want to lose weight, it may be a good idea to start limiting your alcohol intake to the weekends. This can be a huge calorie saver and really help you to slim down.
