Weight Loss By Another Name

Weight loss by any other name will still result in a thinner you. I hear so-called weight loss experts say to me. “I never use the words weight loss. I use weight management.” I like to respond that you lose the weight first then you manage your new weight. You say 12, I say a dozen. The results are the same.

However, I know why they do it and enjoy yanking their chains anyway. The reason they do it is because of the emotions that are attached to weight loss. Whenever I mention the words’ weight loss, I see, fear. It makes people feel uneasy. That is actually good. That is because change of any kind is uneasy for people, and they fear it.

However, weight loss does not have to be painful. Weight loss does not have to be scary. It is made that way by people that don’t want to lose weight, so they make excuse, and turn weight loss into the big bad wolf.

Over the years, I have helped many people lose weight that afterwards have said that losing weight is not that bad. Weight loss is not scary, don’t make it that way. It is not the ghost in your basement. Call it what you want, let’s start the process, let’s get the weight off, and let’s keep it off for a lifetime.

Weight loss Magical Moment

You decide to lose weight. You start to exercise. You start eating healthier. The weight starts to melt off. You look at yourself in the mirror and see yourself changing. A smile comes across your face. That is the magical moment. It is the moment that you know you can do it. It is the feeling of joy that happens when you see that what you are doing is actually working. There is the moment that you know that you will succeed at losing weight.

This is the moment that you are celebrating a victory. This is the moment to savor. It is also the moment of caution. It is a moment to remember what you did to get to where you are at. It is also the moment to remember the past mistakes and obstacles so you don’t revert back. It is a moment that you know that you can reach your weight-loss goals. However, it is a moment to realize that it is easy to fall back into old habits.

When this time comes that you experience that magical moment, enjoy it, celebrate it, and continue to move forward.

Make Weight Loss Happen

Those who lose weight make it happen by doing things that others refuse to do. Those who make weight loss happen, rarely if ever eat a big bag of chips, they eat a small handful. Those who make weight loss happen, don’t eat a large bowl of ice cream. They eat a scoop. Those that make weight loss happen, look for every opportunity to exercise, those that don’t, look for every opportunity to avoid it. Those who make weight loss happen, become more active, those that don’t, won’t.

When you get down to it, those who make weight loss happen, do things that others refuse to do. Making weight loss happen is a choice. Doing what it takes is a choice. Make the right choice and let’s get started today.

A Weight Loss Dream that Stirs Your Soul

Anything in life that is important starts with a dream. It starts with a dream that stirs our soul. This is also true with losing weight. What is your dream?

Is it a dream of living longer? Is it a dream of being pain free? Is it a dream of not having to take medication? Is it a dream of being around for your kids? What is your dream and how large is your dream?

Your dream is what will motivate you. The larger the dream you have, the larger your motivation will be. The smaller the dream you have, the lower your motivation will be. The larger the motivation you have to lose weight, the larger the actions that you will take to make it happen, which will give larger results.

It all starts with a dream. It starts with a large dream. Dream big and make it happen.

Weight Loss – Making the Right Decision

Everyday we make hundreds of decisions. Some of these decisions are good. Some of these decisions are bad. Some of these decisions have a neutral effect upon our lives. However, what we decide and how we respond to the decisions we make will define who we are. This is true for all aspects of our lives. It is also true for our weight.

If we make the decision to ignore our weight problem, what is that saying about us? If we are having health issues as a result of our weight problems, yet do nothing about it, what is that saying about us? If we rather live with taking high blood-pressure medication and or giving ourselves insulin shots, then lose weight, what is that saying about us?

Whatever decisions we make regarding our weight, says something about us. Furthermore, whatever decisions we make become our decisions. When I was overweight, I am sure that I made excuses. I am sure that I blamed everything and everyone for my weight problem. However, until I took ownership for those decisions, I could not lose weight.

If you want to lose weight you must take ownership of every food and exercise (or lack of) decision you make. Start making better decisions and let’s get started.

The Weight Loss Tradeoffs

Choices are not choices without tradeoffs. By definition, a choice requires trade offs. Do I buy this car or that car? If you buy one, you don’t buy the other. If you pick one, you don’t get the other. That is why it is called a choice.

Weight loss is about choices. Weight loss is about trade offs. It is about choosing healthier foods most of the time. What you get in return for this trade-off is lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and normal blood sugar levels.

  • You choose to exercise more and sit on the sofa less. This is a choice. What you get out of it is a leaner and toner body. This is a great tradeoff.
  • There is one mistake that people make. That mistake is that people look at the tradeoffs as something bad. They look at what they gave up instead of the benefit of the tradeoff. If we want to be successful at losing weight, we need to look at the benefit of the trade off. Because what we are giving up is making us sick. It is eating us away slowly. It is destroying us one bite at a time.
  • If you lose weight and start exercising you will feel better, look better, and become healthier. This is the great tradeoff that I made seven years ago. I never regretted it.

    Pursue Your Weight Loss Possibilities

    Is it possible to lose weight? This is the first question that many people ask themselves. The answer to this is, “Yes.” Most people know that it is possible to lose weight. The next question they usually ask themselves is, “can I do it? Is it possible for ME to lose weight?” The very nature of this question shows a lack of belief. If you have asked yourself this question, you need to know that weight loss is possible, and even your ability to lose weight is possible if you believe it is.

    One of the things that you need to do is to stop giving yourself your opinion on whether you have the ability to do it. Additionally, you need to pursue the possibility of losing weight with persistence. You need to have staying power.

    Do not put in an average effort, because the average person does not lose weight. Put in an above-average effort. “What if I fail?” You may be asking yourself this question. You only fail if you quit. Remember the words of Winston Churchill, “Never, never, never, never give up.” If you have setbacks try again and again until you succeed, because “practice makes perfect.”

    How bad do you want to lose weight? Is it, your wish or your hope to lose weight? If your desire is weak, you will give up at the first obstacle. Therefore, you need to want to lose weight badly. You will need to be focused and persistent, have staying power, and believe that you can do it.

    I believe that you can lose the weight if you truly desire and back it up with the right actions. YOU CAN DO IT!

    Weight Loss is not the Big Bad Wolf

    Fear stops people from doing a lot of things. This includes losing weight. When I initially talk to people about weight loss, I hear a lot of excuses about why they can’t lose weight. What I am hearing is fear. When listening to their excuses, I get the sense that people are actually scared to lose weight. This fear keeps people from losing weight. In many cases, it keeps people from starting. This fear is the fear of change. It is the fear that they will have to starve themselves in order to lose weight. It is the fear that they can’t eat what they want. It is fear that they will actually have to get off the sofa and do something. It is fear.

    What people don’t realize is that change will happen whether they want it to or not. Life is all about change. Whether you realize it or not, your body is constantly changing. The question is whether it is changing for the better or not? Are you fighting old age with everything you have or are you speeding up the process? Are you controlling your future health the best you can or is your future health going to control you? You decide, and remember that you will need to live with that decision. Decide wisely.

    Weight Loss Mistakes | Drop Weight | Weight Loss Process

    When I was in the weight loss process, I made plenty of mistakes. I overate at times. I ate the wrong foods in the wrong quantities. One day my weight was down the next day it was way up. However, I did not quit.

    Setbacks are part of the weight loss process. We are human. We screw up. However, how you deal with the weight loss mistakes you make will define your results.

    Do you dwell upon the mistakes or do you learn from them? Do you let your setbacks consume you, or do you figure out a way to get back on track? Do you lose doubt that you can do it, or does it piss you off into working harder at it?

    It is not the mistake that means anything, it is your reaction to the mistakes that is important. Remember that mistakes and setbacks are part of the weight loss process. Have the right attitude when they happen, and you will have the results you want. Have a bad attitude when they happen and you will fail. It is your choice.

    Weight Loss Goal | Wish to Lose Weight

    If you started to lose weight and have not set a weight Loss goal, think again. People tell me all the time that they want to lose weight. When I ask them how much, they want to lose, I get the deer in the headlights stare. Then they tell me that they don’t know. It is hard to lose weight when you don’t have any idea where you want to end up. Setting a weight loss goal will help you get to where you want to be. It will help you with your daily choices, because you have a goal. No weight loss goal means that you can give into temptation easier.

    Let’s say you get into a car and want to go on vacation. If you don’t know where you want to end up, how do you know when you are there? You don’t. Where do you turn? You don’t know. Losing weight is the same way. If you don’t set a weight loss goal, then you don’t know where you are going and have no plan to get there. It is not the way to lose weight.

    When I lost my weight, I initially had a goal of 30 pounds. I hit that goal and realized that I could go further. I then I set another goal and lost an additional 20 pounds. That is the power of a weight loss goal.

    Every choice I make, I asked myself. Is what I about to do taking me closer or further away from my goal? That answer drove all of my decisions and allowed me to reach my ideal weight. It can drive your decisions. It can also drive your weight down.
