Make Your Own Salad Dressing – Weight Loss Tip

Bottled dressings can be a calorie nightmare. Two tablespoons of blue cheese dressing contain about 140 calories along with 14 grams of fat. An alternative is to mix your own dressing together. Mix two parts lemon juice to one part olive oil. Put your dressing into a spray bottle and spray on your salad for better portion control.

A good idea is to substitute whole grains with refined grains like white bread, cakes, cookies, and pretzels. This will give you much needed fiber and will fill you up so you are more likely to eat a smaller portion. Therefore, if you want to lose weight, start eating whole-wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, bran flakes, popcorn, and whole-rye crackers.

3. Select Your Liquid Calories Wisely to Slim Down
Sweetened drinks can really add on the calories, and they don’t help cut hunger like solid foods do. It is easy and wise to satisfy your thirst with water, sparkling water with citrus in it, skim or low-fat milk. Grab a glass of nutritious and low-calorie vegetable juice to help fill you up between meals. However, be mindful of the calories in alcoholic drinks, which add up quickly. If you drink daily and want to lose weight, it may be a good idea to start limiting your alcohol intake to the weekends. This can be a huge calorie saver and really help you to slim down.

Pack Your Own Water To Lose Weight – Weight Loss Tip

I have written previous posts on the importance of drinking water to lose weight. One of which is:

However, I realize that it is hard to get ice water when you’re on the go. Therefore, I usually put a bottle or two of water in the freezer every night and take it with me to drink throughout the day. This keeps me in cold water all day and allows me to get the water my body craves.
